Thinking about P365 Macro Login/Join

Admitted Luddite when it comes to carry guns, I've mostly carried some variation of a lightweight 1911 commander length barrel or a revolver. Then 2 years ago I got a standard P365 thinking it would replace my j-frames in the pocket carried role.

Well I never have pocket carried it, instead I find myself strong side belt carrying it most of them time. Feel like I've gotten a little lazy in that I carry it now more than anything else just because it is so light, easy and small.

Which brings me to my current train of thought thinking I got too lazy and need to upgrade to something a little larger for carry. I do already cary it with 12 round magazines with baseplate extensions so the grip is similar to an XL. Which brings me to the P365 Macro.

So now the questions come; Macro, XL with 17 round mags and extended baseplates or get a holster and try carrying my Shadow System MR920 (Gucci Glock 19)?

Looking for opinions of those with experience with the Macro and XL. Thanks in advance.

In general terms I find anything “Glock 19esq” in size perfectly carryable and more importantly shootable.

That said while the difference in size on paper between a Glock 19 and a 365 Macro/Hellcat Pro is fairly small, in practice they feel friggin tiny in comparison.

So I think you would still find the 365 Macro a “lazy carry” gun so to speak in the best way. I do still feel like these super thin “micro/macro 9s” are not as easy to shoot as a true compact but they really are pretty incredible.

I would say give the Macro a try if you have the disposable income. The Shadow Systems is a perfectly viable and likely easier shooting gun but you will be amazed at how small the macro feels in comparison, even though the pure numbers don’t seem like it should be so. You really need to experience it.

Take care, shoot safe.

I own and have carried the 365, XL and Macro models. Although it is an ideal, comfortable carry gun, the Macro's 17+1 capacity diminishes the XL. For extreme concealability, the original P365 is hard to beat. I generally carry IWB. The Macro is just as easy to conceal as the XL. I gave up my S&W Shield when Sig introduced the P365. In my opinion, its the best EDC platform available.

depends on how much money you want to spend but the 365 axg legion by far is my favorite, I also have the 365 tac ops both shoot 17+1 with night sites. sold all my glocks after shooting one.

I have a regular P365 XMacro, compared to my Glock 32(19 sized) its both thinner by quite a bit and shorter than a Glock 19 sized gun with a slightly higher capacity.

Mine is very accurate, I'd still say both P365 Macro and Glock 19 are good guns though.

XMacro comp and don’t look back. Can even do a red dot and light if you decide. Like others said above, in practice it seems quite a bit smaller than the G19 and holds 17 rounds! When a better carry gun is made I will buy it and carry it.

I have a Macro and for me it’s a bit large for carry. I would prefer a X or XL version of the P365 for carry.

My XMacro retired my Glock 19 from carry. That said, the 365X shorter grip frame conceals easier.

The XMacro is smaller than the G19 in every dimension, except being slightly taller. If you can easily cc the G19, then the XMacro shouldn't be a problem. If you can barely cc the G19, then that small height difference would probably come into play.

As has been stated, the Macro is smaller than a G19. On paper not significantly, but in practice it feels MUCH smaller. The grip is still a bit small for my hand, but it's quite a bit bigger than the standard P365. I've shot both the comped and non-comped version, and I'd say the comp makes a noticeable difference in recoil impulse, without adding any obnoxious blast or pressure, at least not with quality SD ammo. I can get away with carrying a bigger gun that fills my hand better, so I do, but if you like the P365, the Macro fits your hand, and you're planning to belt carry anyway, it's the one to get.

I’m looking to try the Macro XComp we just got approved here in CA. My only concern is that I already have a P365 and a P365XL.

What do I gain with the P364 Macro since I’m limited to 10 rounds anyway. I still have my old standard capacity mags for my g19 (30+ years as an LEO).

Any input from those here would help…

I don’t own a P365 MACRO but from my standpoint. Better rail, more real estate to control the gun, better/easier draw, better sight radius (I believe) and the comp that should also aid in control.

So while the smaller guns really are a bit like a J-Frame in that they are more geared for “carry a lot” the Macros while still being very easy to carry are much more geared towards the shoot a lot part of the spectrum IMO.

I have a Macro Comp slide on a XL frame and it fits me perfectly. Once I shot the gun with the comp, I was sold. For me, it is quite noticeable with lessening recoil and is much easier with follow up shots. I am still however, trying to get used to having a red dot sight on the slide. Capacity is adequate and easier to carry than the slightly larger Macro frame. I can carry a larger mag, as a back up or another 12 rounder. Also, a good holster really makes a difference.

Thanks for the heads up on approval of the 365 Macro Comp model.
I’m an optimist, I think when SCOTUS finally calls a halt to all the foot-dragging in CA, we will have full cap magazines at last.

I see Sig doesn’t yet list the CA model on their website.

I started with the P365 XL as the standard P365 just wasn't for me.

The P365XL has been carried now for three plus years; the only changes I've made were the ArmoryCraft extended magazine release, extended safety and spring kit.

I thought I had the perfect P365XL, then I handled and shot the X-Macro; I had to have one.
The X-Macro checks all the boxes for me, carryable, very shootable and excellent capacity.
I have added the ArmoryCraft Extended Safety to mine, other than that it's bone stock.
The more I shoot the X-Macro the more I like it.
When I sell my Glock 19 Gen. 5, I will buy another one.

While I love my classic SIG's, the P365 X-Macro is rapidly becoming a favorite.

I've had a standard P365 for over four years now. OWB or shoulder holster with a 12 round mag, fits me perfectly, for pocket carry a ten round mag works great.

I own an original 365, an X and a Macro Comp. I carry the original as a cargo pocket pistol. I love my Macro Comp and carry it OWB when I am wearing a cover garment. I did an experiment with the XL I owned years ago and the Macro Comp. After putting the XL slide on the Comp grip and comparison shooting both slides, I found that my followup shots were better with the Comp. I shoot 124 grn. YMMV, but I really think the comp works for me. Others think it doesn't help at all.

I'm tired of being ripped off by the LGS.
I could order that, use Gussler's for my FFL, save a bundle. And not wait in line for 45 minutes to an hour.

Aren’t retired LEO’s exempt from the standard cap mag restriction?
