After 20 years exclusively spent on sporting clays, I brought my pistols out of the safe and joined the Scottsdale Gun Club. My initial observation is what a difference two decades makes in the demographics of handgun owners. It's more diverse (age, race, and gender wise) and much less intimidating - lots of families learning/practicing together. What was new to me was how many shooters were using fully automatic weapons and silencers.

My original P226 sights were "dim" and needed replacing. I could have bought Sig XRays on Amazon for $100 and had them installed by a local gunsmith, but at the recommendation of forum members I opted to send my gun to New Hampshire for SSP factory service. For a mere $150 (plus $55 for two-way Fedex) they replaced the sights, fully disassembled/cleaned the gun and replaced a dozen misc. parts. The only negative was it took 5.5 weeks door-to-door - my local gunsmith quoted 48-72 hours, but he would have only replaced the sights for the same $150 (parts + labor).

While I was waiting for the gun to return, I bought a Bar-Sto drop-in 9mm barrel and recoil spring. My current caliber is 357SIG and those are getting harder to find. To show how long I’ve been away, my stockpile of top-shelf Winchester 357SIG ammo is marked at $12.99 for 50 rounds.

I highly recommend the service.

BTW, we have to see/hear political BS every day. I come here for sanctuary. Site owner: give it a break with the partisan initial screenshot. FWIW, I'd say the same thing if it was Harris/Buffett pictured. What we really need is unity as a country not further division. The VAST majority of us want reach across the aisles again. That is what would make America great again. Where is John McCain when we need him?

So OP really wants to vent his angst over a picture he sees as poor taste, but thinks a stealth "postmortem" for sending his pistol in is a great cover for his mini-diatribe.

Complete moron.

FWIW, its a great pic. Big Grin

This is Trump country, boys and girls. We don't cater to idiots, and if you can't see the choice for our leader has never been clearer, then you are an idiot.

Sorry to have offended with my call for unity as a country. Please delete my post. Helpful members, but I won't be returning.

You've made your point about "your forum; your rules" and it's a valid one. You have an informative forum with helpful/knowledgeable members, but it's clearly not for me. Please delete my post and I'll be on my way.

You just take it on the arches and don't worry about what I do or need to do or should do or don't do. You have exceeded your quota for such things.

And, no, I'm not deleting your account, either.

You're a troll, guaranteed. You've been here before or you have another account and you're well aware that that particular phrase is something I have stated many times is never necessary to post.

Another helpful suggestion: Leave Arizona while you're at it, because there's a number of us who saw the bullshit that happened the last few elections and escaped enemy territory to come reinforce things here. Your range trip gave you the warm fuzzies for the diversity, but what you really ought to have paid attention to was the change in class III ownership, because us folks aren't selling jack shit down the river. May as well pack and move to Washington or New York or wherever the fuck you'll feel less offended about running into true Americans. Arizona is my last stand after living in those shitholes and pansies like you would be better off just leaving.

There is nothing more bizarrely ludicrous than a leftist accusing the Right of promoting national “divisions.”

People have always disliked people outside their group for good reasons, bad reasons, and no reasons at all. But the goal of ensuring that everyone identified first and foremost with their particular tribe was promoted to an unprecedented degree and ultimately enshrined in the national culture and laws by one of the Left’s most revered idols, B. H. Obama. To this day response in kind by individuals on the Right has been a pale shadow of the divisiveness the Left from the top levels on down has pushed on our society.

RFK being from a sea-faring family, I'd like to see an image of DJT and RFK Jr. side by side on the deck of a Revolutionary War frigate firing a broadside into a ship of the other side. Sort of like John Paul Jones would have done it.

Genius talks about coming here for sanctuary from politics. There's not a discussion forum in existence- on any topic you might name- which allows political discussion, that makes a greater effort to compartmentalize the subject. Don't want to read or talk politics? Simply avoid threads which are clearly marked as such. Everything else will be devoid of political discussion. I see to this personally, and the policy prohibiting the interjection of politics into apolitical threads is enforced strictly and enthusiastically.

Don't want to see a scary pic of Trump and Musk? (and, of course, any other such personages Roll Eyes) then, click here. Hey, whadda ya know? You're in the forum and big, bad, mean Donald Trump (and, of course, any other such personages Roll Eyes) can't touch you in your naughty places.

Ain't that somethin'? But, I guess common sense approaches to such matters are never considered at the lofty, perfume-scented sporting clays club. Roll Eyes

Perhaps I'll run this one for a while. McCain lookin' for the thermostat.

^^^ Good point about the rule on keeping non-political posts non-political.

And once you're inside the forum, you don't even see it. I didn't even see the new logo as somehow my link goes straight to the main root directory.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

Same here, either a misclick or someone mentioning the title page has changed are the only times I end up there.
