I know these have been out for some time and we had the old thread TLR7 thread that had some pictures of the FLEX etc. I just haven't had a chance to pick one or two up until recently. I was a fan of the TLR-7. I thought it was a GREAT light. Everything from being single cell, to front loading, to its beam pattern and size. I put 3 on various guns I have. That said like most I was disappointed in the switching location and function and had to adapt to it. I still loved the lights but there was most certainly room for improvement. Well I picked up two of the Flex models and let me tell you pictures DO NOT do the switching improvement justice. The switches not fall PERFECTLY into place as well as feeling more positive and easier to control accurately. These lights took a great light and made it damn near perfect IMO. If I have one small complaint still it centers around the hold for momentary vs. click for constant on. I still wish I had the choice to have constant on as a function or not. If I had my druthers I would be able to turn off the constant on function and only have momentary but honestly with this update that is a minor complaint. So anyway, if you are on the fence pick one up. I think you will like the improvements over the original. Now the originals are still great lights and still have homes on various firearms but these new Flex's live on my two primary guns now. For what its worth. I have a TLR 7a mounted on a Glock 19, and love it. I like that it is flush with the slide/barrel and doesn't protrude like the TLR1 series that I used to use... My only complaint is the strobe feature is crazy weird to turn on... luckily, I'm not a fan of the strobe feature, ha! Tomorrow’s battle is won during today’s practice. - Samurai maxim

I wish there was a way to alter the original TLR-7 to the 'A' design.

Go ahead punk, make my day |
Yeah I wish the TLR7A had come out originally and I would have taken the light seriously over the XC1A/B. Unfortunately I have several of those with holsters, so it's not worth the money for some extra lumens to change them out.

I agree with all of the thoughts in this thread. I held onto the XC1A for the switching, but the TLR-7A is an awesome light and I'm now switching some things over to it.

I'm a big fan of mine, and even carry it on duty sometimes with my P320C with X-Compact grip. I just wish holsters were more widely available. Once they are, I will likely replace most of my TLR-1s with TLR-7As, at least for my compact guns.

RogueJSK, I bought a Raven holster that quick shipped for Glock19 with TLR7a mounted... Not sure if they have the Sig P320 series covered yet, but... you are right, only a matter of time until holster makers get the TLR7a on their lists Tomorrow’s battle is won during today’s practice. - Samurai maxim

For what it’s worth my TLR7 holster fits the 7a. It is Kydex so no give like leather. So you shouldn’t need a 7a specific holster. "Guns are tools. The only weapon ever created was man."

I really wish Safariland would do duty holsters for compact guns with this light that are actually shortened. To my knowledge, all of them just have a plug to keep the gun at the right height.

Yep. I carry my P320C with TLR-7A in a Safariland 7TS series on duty. It's the exact same holster shell as a full size P320 with the TLR-1/X300, just with plugs in the end to slightly shorten the interior space. So it's just as bulky. It'd be real nice to have an ALS holster that was as compact as the gun/light combo itself.

I have a Safariland 7378 7TS ALS made for a Glock 19/23 with a TLR-7, no additional length. Ordered directly from Safiland in April of this year. These are the two part ID’s on the invoice: 7378-28327-411 & 1316312. Description: 7378 GLOCK 19/23 TLR-7 SAFSEV BLK RH. My Glock 19 w/TLR-7 in Safariland 7TS ALSThis message has been edited. Glad to hear they're moving in that direction. Hopefully the P320C is next.

I went on the Safariland website and followed the same steps I did for my Glock 19. Looks like there’s a model for the P320 Compact w/TLR-7. Looks like MODEL: 7378 SKU: 1318362 PART: 7378-75027-411. Safariland 7378 7TS ALS P320 Compact w/TLR-7

That may be the same model as mine. If so, it's as described above, a larger holster with some plugs added to make the interior smaller.

The same holster fit/ build process recommends this for the full size P320 w/TLR-7. MODEL: 7378 SKU: 1318884 PART: 7378-45027-411. Could be worth a call to Safariland. I found out about the compact Glock model through a review on Optics Planet, mentioned he had to order direct from Safariland to get that version.

For real? |
I switched to the Flex on my duty gun (Glock 31). I cut my Safariland holster to fit. Sits much better in the car now. Not minority enough!

I might have to look into that, Chowser... Does the gun rattle excessively in that cut down holster, without the "nub" on the muzzle block to limit its movement?

For real? |
I don’t have a current picture but I used moldable plastic to create something to hold up the barrel to stop the wiggle and have something to lock in the bottom. Here’s my last holster (7ts series) which I cut also before we switched to the RDS holsters. With tlr-7 Before i added the plastic and with tlr-1 Not minority enough!
