Hoping this is current. For those interested in a CZ82 in this caliber.
Was reading in the CZ forum and found it.

One of these days I, or CZ, or someone will figure out whether the .32s are 82s or 83s. Razz

That's a few days old and, apparently, still current. Someone got in a shipment a few months ago and blew them out the door at a much more 9x18 price. These look a bit less beat up, but at $549 they're not moving anywhere near as fast.

FWIW, CZ did bring in a batch of mags when the earlier batch of pistols hit the market, but may or may not have any now.

A lot of folks like the 32 acp CZ82's. I already have a 9x18 C82 like new that CCR did in CeraHide Black, and I'm happy with my setup .

I'd love one; I'm just too cheap to get one of the batch from Atlantic.

I had one in 9X18 Makarov made in Czechoslovakia. Painted finish which easily chipped off, so I stripped off the paint and had it refinished in black, which didn't come off too well.

As I recall, the magazine release was an Engineer nightmare of little pieces.

Traded off or sold, I don't remember.

Exactly! It would go nicely with my Beretta 81.

That's easy: If it has a rounded trigger guard, it's an 82, which means it's a milsurp. If it has a squared-off trigger guard, it's an 83, made for the civilian market.

I could be wrong, but I don't think so. Big Grin

Early 83s---as a matter of fact all of them well into the 21st Century---also had rounded triggerguards.

Yes, I have an 83 in .380 that has the rounded trigger guard. I also have a couple of 83s in 9x18M that has the square guards .

The later 83s came in .32,.380. and 9x18M if I recall correctly. The .380 and 9x18M magazines were the same too I believe. The mak version holds one less round . The .32 holds 15 I think. I never got a .32 though I now wish I had.

Apologies for a slight derail: After looking at the CZs, I scrolled the rest of the Atlantic Firearms site under "surplus pistols" and they have used Beretta 92S models for 360 bucks. Described as good/fair condition. The photos looked ok and for that price you could always rehab it.

7.65 = CZ-83. Terrific guns but that import mark on the slide is unforgivable. Also, mags are unobtainable after CZ-USA stopped carrying them a year or so ago

9x18 is correct about the Model 83 also being made in 9mm Makarov. Now, I'm pretty sure the following info is correct: The CZ82 in 9mm Makarov had polygonal rifling but the CZ83s that were made in 9mm Makarov had traditional rifling. Someone here will be able to verify this I'm sure.

Oops. I guess I'm wrong. Roll Eyes

I have an 82 in 9x18 with a rounded trigger guard, an 82 in 9x17 (.380) with same, and an 83 in 7.65 with a squared trigger guard.

So am I correct in saying if it's milsurp it's an 82, or is that also wrong?

That sounds right toivo. One thing in what you wrote: you said you have "an 82 in 9x17 (380)". The 82 is strictly 9x18 Makarov.

The CZ83 has a grooved barrel in .32 and .380 but the 9x18M has the polygonal barrel like the 82.

I might be confused because it's a milsurp, purchased from J&G, and it has a round trigger guard.

For $300-$350, I'd jump on one of these to go with my Beretta 81. $550 is a bit steep, though, and I'm currently saving for something to fill a practical hole in my collection...this would basically just be a duplicate. I wonder if Atlantic is the only place that got this batch, or if we'll see some popping up other places...maybe in poorer condition at a lower price.

Cool. Same here...but I'm working all weekend so likely won't have a lot of time to look.

Caveat emptor on these pistols. I have an ammo trading acquaintance who ordered one from Atlantic within the last few weeks. Arrived unacceptable and he refused the shipment. And, PGT has nailed it for magazines - they seem to be made out of unobtainium. I really like the platform, I have an 83 and somewhat beat up 82.
