Looking to replace my p229 grips with something less bulky. Trigger length is just a hair long for me. This is DA/SA model. Sig discontinued the E2 and I can only find Hogue, but not enough details to know if they would help. Any suggestions would be appreciated. | ||

You made a great choice. I love the E2 grips as they offer a better hold/grip on the gun for me, they are thin overall compared to anything out there and the texture is perfect. If you have never installed them before, one thing I might mention when you go to put the grips on the gun itself, put a rigid plastic card-credit,debit,etc., over the coiled trigger spring because you can compress it and you will have to replace it. There are a few videos showing what I mean. | |||

I have broad palms but my fingers aren't overly long. The E2's give me a better grip on the 229 and 226. | |||

They were not offered on Sig website but one of the other members put me on the E2 grip kit. My p229 has long spring, I’m waiting on short one to arrive. | |||

FWIW, I've run factory OEM, E2 and Hogue G10's on my P226 and P229. Personal preference and hand/finger size factor in to suitability for a given shooter, of course. My P229 Experiences: 1)Factory standard OEM. Trigger finger distance longer than ideal. However, shot the gun weekly for over 10 years and adapted to it. Then I did the following. 2) The E2's FELT great, but I had a problem with consistency. When digging out of the holster with an imperfect grip, the gun was prone to dipping. With a SD pistol, a perfect grip should not be required. Only gun/grip I ever had the issue with. 3) Solution that finally worked for me. (a) Hogue G10's. Places trigger finger slightly closer to trigger face. (b) GrayGuns replacement trigger (old version). Better shaped and places trigger finger slightly closer to trigger face as well. 4) I have small hands/fingers. The G10's combined with the GrayGuns trigger solved the problem. BTW, Sig offers/offered a short reach trigger replacement. I went this same route and I too am not a fan of the short reach trigger. In my opinion, your adice is spot on as a path for the original post to follow that may even result in more accurate shooting to boot. Too many SIGs .. ... Nah not really | |||
