I love metal and wood, so I purchased a new set of Cocobolo, checkered grips from Hogue for my Sig P226 Combat. BIG mistake. It is the ugliest combination that can be imagined.
It is much uglier than the picture shows. I am definitely going to put the plastic grips back on my pistol.

Regards,
arlen

Hahah, yeah that is hideous. Red Face

OTOH, G10 grips in green might look really good.

The funny thing is if the fde anodizing was a bit lighter it would look like Nickel and then the wood grips would look good.

Wrong color. But nothing wrong with doing wood, IMHO.

Ebony wood. Not a bad color match. Esmeralda unfortunately doesn't do classic SIGs, though.

may I suggest sig logo black aluminum grips? I think they'd look fantastic along with the black controls and black slide against the FDE frame

Yes, that might look real good on the Combat. But, quantum13 got it. The SIG logo checkered aluminum looks right at home on the Combat.

Ugly maybe not - lets just say some Sigs are better looking than others. Lights out or a bag over her face and she is as hot as the rest of them. I do like the black grips on Q's with that frame color.

I'm in for that Christmas karma lol.

But I agree that aluminum grips are the way to go on the combat. When the legions first came out abd I had free time to work at the shop, we had a customer buy one and hand me the slide back. He had me cerakote it black. Looked very clean with black controls, black slide, and black grips with the gray frame.

Might consider Hogue G10's. Come in various patterns and colors.

Here is an idea, I'll help you hide it at my place and then we'll act like nothing happened...

...ever. Yeah, I'd try the Sig checkered aluminum grips, while I don't have a Combat, they also look good on a 10mm. Big Grin

At least you didn’t try and nickle plate the controls as well. Wink. But yea, nice wood grips on that pistol isn’t a good combo.
