S&W M&P Shield 45 - what do you think?
Palmetto has a great deal going on the Shield 45. Does anyone here have one? What do you think of it?

Ladies and gentlemen, take my advice - pull down your pants and slide on the ice.

I live a few miles from PSA, I stopped by the other day and bought 2 of the Shield 45's the one I shoot is great!
Accurate and easy to shoot for a compact 45 I really recommend it!

Love mine. Shoots great. Put a set of the Trijicon HD XR sights on it.

I haven't shot one, but handled one in the store. Bigger than I thought it might be, not particularly comfortable. If I were going that route, it would probably be a G36.

Only fondled handled at gun shows, but I like what I feel. I have a trench-style winter coat for which it would be a good size for the front pocket. Too bad about the cost of .45 practice ammo. Frown In the 1990s and early 2000s it was a ten-spot or less for a box, now it is double that.

It still is, if you take the time to load it yourself.

I've had one for quite awhile now, almost a year.

In short there is nothing not to like. It's probably the best carry 45 when considering all factors. If there was one potential negative, the grip stippling is very aggressive, and will rub you raw if you carry against your skin. The grip stippling though while aggressive, also has a huge benefit in that the pistol has an amazing lack of recoil for a small 45, and the stippling keeps it firmly in hand.

You can read elsewhere about specs, opinions etc. but all things being equal, and all factors considered - fit and finish, accuracy, reliability, ergonomics, weight etc. - I don't think there is a better carry 45 made for civilian use. It is currently the king. Factor in the recent pricing and it's an absolute no brainer.

Got one. LOVE it! Only drawback is that it is hard to load the mags. Got a mag loader, solved!
