Did a little horse trading for a STI 2011 and Ruger Hunter 22
So my buddy purchased a CMMG Banshee in 10mm and wanted a Glock 10mm for the interchangeability of mags with his carbine and pistol. He was also looking for a thinner 1911 in 9mm for carry, so I traded him a DW Valkyrie and Glock 40 MOS with a Vortex Venom for this STI 9MM and Ruger Hunter. The STI was a carry gun and has some wear, but is a damn good shooter. It pairs well with my Stacatto P Duo. The Ruger is just a beautiful gun. That S/S with wood grips just gives it a great contrast.

All in all, this was a great deal as those STI’s are still over 2K on the used market.

Cool!

Looks like you did good with that trade. 2011s are some of my favorite handguns, but they are hard to come by.

Rosewood and stainless looks good any time, that and your serial adds a nice touch.

The STI is a great addition as you are aware. I really like both my C & C2.

Very nice on both counts! I had always been kind of skeptical of the Ruger Mk series because I didn't care for the asthetics, or the grip angle, but over the years I tried other .22 semi-autos and just wasn't happy with them...most felt like toys. A few months ago I found a deal that I couldn't pass up on a Mk II stainless target...it looks a lot like your Mk IV hunter model but without the fluted barrel. I think I've finally found "the one"! I love the build quality and heft...this thing feels like a serious handgun, and it shoots awesome. It has also been utterly reliable with a wide variety of ammo, which is not something I can say for most other .22 semi-autos I've owned. Also, with the difficulty (more like impossibility) in finding primers right now, it's nice to be able to shoot something that's not burning through my center fire stash.

I'd say you did good and you're gonna enjoy both of those handguns!

Nice! I had a Ruger Hunter and I still kick myself for trading it.

You will love that Ruger Hunter. Fantastic pistol.

A trade with both parties happy, is the best kind.

Great pics
