Looking for suggestions for an OWB holster for my P226 legion. There don’t seem to be a lot of options out there.

I like Garrett holsters. Theirs are high quality leather-lined Kydex.

Is there a difference between a standard 226 and legon model that would prevent a 226 holster from working? Any 226 holster should fit yours so there are a ton of choices out there. I'd look at grizzle holsters if you want leather but as mentioned ^^^ Garrett makes nice stuff if you like kydex but want the protection of leather.

Plenty of options. I’ve done business and had positive experiences with these.
Leather?
Ryan Grizzle
TT gunleather
Mitch Rosen
Kramer
If you need it quick Top Gun Supply usually stocks Ritchie Gun Leather. He worked with Lou Alessi and makes several of Alessi’s old designs. Really good stuff. Grizzle and Kramer are 10-16 week waits (and going up) but Grizzle offers an expedite service for a very reasonable up charge. Tim at TT Gunleather is running 4-6 weeks right now. Rosen is about 4 weeks for their Express line holsters and 10 weeks for full detail rigs.

I also like Milt Sparks, but their wait is 26 weeks plus and the only things they normally stock are IWB.

Kydex?
Tons of options there. I’m particularly fond of Gunfighters Inc for Kydex OWB. I’ve got one of their holsters for almost all of the guns I carry ona regular basis. Except 1911s. Those go in leather or the ghost of John Moses Browning will haunt you.

Brings up the obvious... that Sig has missed their chance at another Legion marketing item... specifically a Legion Holster.

It’s just a 226 so any 226 holster will work .
And yes Sig does sell both leather and Kydex holsters for their Legion line .

I would suggest one in leather.
Kydex works fine but it eats the finish, PVD or Cerakote.

Mine normally rides in a Safariland mid ride.
I have an Alien Gear paddle that works well.
My 220 rides in that one though.

Actually, Sig did not miss out at all. They sell Legion specific OWB holsters on their store website under the Legion section. The leather holster is crafted by Mitch Rosen.

I looked and yes they have Legion holsters... almost all are for a P320... I only saw one for a P226, it is leather, which I would prefer... but it does not have the Legion Logo on it.

Really a firm believer the Ritchie Holsters Belt Speed Scabord is one of the best leather OWB holsters money can buy.

That may be the case with some holsters but I've had two makers tell me that their standard 226 holsters will not work.

Who said that? I'm seriously curious.

My Legion worked just fine in every holster I had until I got rid of the Legion. The only gun sig makes that I've had an issue fitting is my MK25 because it has a real picatinny rail instead of the sig rail. It's a hair more squared off and is a really tight fit in leather made for a standard rail. I'm still using the Sparks VM2 that originally held my Legion to hold my 220 or the MK25. The 25 fits, it just had to stretch the leather a hair. Still plenty snug on the 220.

I've got the Rosen holsters for my 320s that run red dots and love them. I haven't tried one on a metal framed Sig. Just don't have any with optics. I'm sure they work just as well as the 320 version though. Only gripe is the holsters leave the optic totally exposed, but I don't see a way to get around that and still have a concealable holster.

I got a Rhino Concealment holster for my P226 Legion.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Yup. Plain as day.

I've also got a Blackpoint OWB hybrid P226 holster that has both the SIG logo as well as the Legion logo on it, presumably manufactured through a marketing agreement. I couldn't care less about the markings, but I wanted to try the holster design, and it fit the bill.
