I’m really wanting to try one on the 10mm. I’m not convinced enough to mill a slide though. This has been recommended as a solution. Any experience with this? https://www.egwguns.com/red-do...-fastfire-and-docter ----------The weather is here I wish you were beautiful----------

Internet lore suggests an optic mount using the rear dovetail is the least desirable solution. Particularly on a hard recoiling pistol. I have two red dot equipped pistols using factory milled slides and one with a factory frame mounted optic. For a 10mm I would recommend either of those methods. Dovetail mounts suck. You're putting a lot of weight on there to expect it to not want to walk and the optic ends up sitting very high. For 1911 slide milling, there are some limitations because of how narrow the slides are and some of the rear sight cuts. C&H, Vulcan Machine Werks, Monsoon Tactical, and Impact Machine all come to mind as reputable people to mill a 1911 slide however.
