Sure. You should be able to find a good used one in the range $150-220.
The Lakeline parts I show in the pic are optional.
For this conversion, do not replace the OEM Striker Spring Retainer Polymer set with an SS one, of which Lakeline offers because they did not do a good job on replicating the OEM specs to fit in the Striker channel.
Here is a link to a very useful video showing in great detail the full G3 frame disassembly.

I'm not interested in a carry gun with a manual safety, either. This would be an occasional carry piece that I only use in certain circumstances, and I want it to go into action the same way as every other gun that I carry.
I'm still looking for a small, reliable 9mm with an un-cocked action and no manual safety. I'm not sure what I want exists (Kahr is probably the closest but those also have a pre-cocked Striker), but I'm in no rush and can wait. If somebody comes out with a DA/SA or DAO micro-compact in the P365/hellcat/G43 form factor, and it actually works, I'll buy it.
With this being your preference, a G3X or G3XL will be a fit since they dropped the manual safety on both, and there will be an additional part to remove and dispose of along with the sear system shown in pic.
And this is what they look like for a G3X/G3XL

To all my P290RS family, I had to tighten the trigger return spring and the trigger bar push-up spring to remove the random slack in the trigger bar/trigger reset.
Also, when using 8/10 rounds mags, always, after loading a full mag, use a pick or a thin punch to push the rounds tips upward in the mag via the spring latch hole.
could you share how you tightened the trigger return spring and the trigger bar push up spring?...also where did you find 8 and 10 round P290RS magazines???
Thanks,
Bill

I found and got 5 of the 8 rounds on Gun Broker. They continue to pop up there randomly. I got 4 of the 10 rounds from Gun Mag Warehouse when they had supply but there is ton of them listed on Gun Broker.

you may want to consider getting this

monoblokNever liked the
deep trigger break of this design; I was always jerking or shoving the muzzle and too often I could unfortunately count on putting holes in places I never originally intended to aerate. The 290 was the problematic one, while the 290RS supposedly fixed most if not all of the issues. The P250 subcomp--albeit larger--was to me the far better SIG DOA during the 290's time in production.

After some tune-up I made, my P290RS family became very dependable.

I have no idea how much ammunition I have put through mine over the years but I have allowed many of my associates to fire it so it is at least in the several thousands of rounds quite probably more but I don't count rounds so
I have never experienced a light strike with mine or a failure to feed or extract. Accuracy is very good for such a tiny firearm and I am more than pleased with it
When I want to pocket carry a 9MM firearm typically, this is what I carry at least when we're talking about semi autos

BTW, after you get your recommended tune-up on the P290RS, you can acquire a .380 conversion kit form eBay or Gun Broker/Gun Busters Like I did.

Hi and thank you for info. That is great because, once they are properly tuned, they work very well in both .380 and 9.
Are they offering NIBs or used? And in both .380 and 9 and where are they listed for sale?

Thank you. I made an inquiry on their website. It is interesting to see they display their pride in the product, regardless of its difficult launch (like the P224, P227 ...).
