I have a p365xl, which I love. The size, weight, and capacity are exactly what I've been waiting on from SIG for a long time. Having said that, the trigger feel is pretty bad. My P228, P239, and P226 all have a wonderfully crisp trigger break (once you get past the take up, of course ). My P365xl trigger feels like mush. No crisp break at the point of engagement. Is this just how striker-fired pistols feel, or do I need to have this looked at? Thanks!

That is the general feel, although Walther uses a rather unique action that provides a rather crisp break. The reason is this: Hammer fired pistols have all the fire control parts in the frame and thus the geometry of the parts is fixed and they can be designed with close tolerances to avoid excessive sear engagement on the hammer hooks. On a striker pistol, a sear in the frame holds back a striker in the slide - so all tolerance stackups between frame and slide and all slop in the slide to frame fit have to be countered by the engagement of the sear to the striker to prevent the striker from skipping over the sear and de-cocking itself. That means there is a lot of movement that has to occur for the sear to release the striker and thus the long creepy, sometimes gritty release. You can minimize this by polishing the sear and striker contact points with Flitz or similar polish.
