I had been looking for a no lock 686 snub for about two years, I was about to say to heck with it and buy a new 686 plus model. Then out of the blue I decided to take a gander at Gunsamerica, which I rarely do, and found a beautiful 2.5" 686-4 for under 8 bills. I jumped right then and there.
Now all I need to do is find a good model 60 and my set will be complete

PGTI find their search tool to be really worthless, always returning results that aren't relevant. Good deals can be had outside GB for sure b/c they don't have the same number of eyes on their auctions

MNSIG^^^^
I think the days of good deals at local shops are pretty much over around here. They either list them on GB themselves or at least use GB for pricing guidance. No one is pulling out the dog eared 5 year old Blue Book any more.

mbinkyUgg yea the search on GA is horrible. You have to wade through pages of guns that aren't even near what you are looking for.

C-DubsWell, my willpower worked.
I found all the 2.5" M686s on GunAuction.com. I had been searching for a Ruger Security-six instead, but opened up the search to all .357Mag revolvers.
They currently have a gorgeous blued Security-six on there that I was watching. Still had the hang tag on it with original box. But, price was a bit more than I wanted to spend.
Looked on GB this afternoon, and they had a new listing for a stainless Security-six which looks brand new to my eyes, but no box. Good thing is that it was $150 cheaper than the blue model at GunAuction.
Long story short, I should receive the Security-six next week.
A 586/686 will eventually find it's way home with me in the future, but for now, I'm a happy camper.
Thanks to all for the replies!

FN in MTI feel that considering the slightly larger L frame, the 3" CS-1 L frames were THE best ratio of frame size to barrel length. Ratio isn't the word I'm looking for, but You get the idea.

swageI have a 2.5" 686-3 with flash chromed trigger and hammer with combat grips. I searched long and hard for it. It's one of my favorites.
