JDGVery curious as to how the magazine resets the trigger bar.

sakata8242It doesn’t actually reset the striker at all. This video linked from the website shows how it works.

shakazulu12I wish they made one for the P320. It's actually adjustable a bit so you can lighten it to match whatever trigger pull you have your gun set up with. It's expensive for what it is, but a lot cheaper than a SIRT.

tcba_joeI have one. Very cool piece of training gear that I never get to using enough.
It doesn't reset the striker, it pushes forward on the trigger bar. The spring inside the mag clicks when depressed. So it's not resetting anything, it's simulating the click. It's a 90% solution and "good enough" for what it is.
I have 2 guns I can use it in. A CCF raceframe "G17" and a stock Gen 4 G19. It works great in the raceframe. However with the stock G19 there's a slight "hitch" evident during the simulated trigger pull. I think the trigger blade safety drags catches on the frame before it's fully depressed. It seems so slight it may just be my gun.
Overall, it's a B+ and I'd recommend it highly.

dominoI have one and like it. It beats dry firing my Gen 2 till the breach face blows out like I have seen pictures of.

JAFOFYI, for those who rack the slide on dryfire, you can get magazine inserts from a Cool Fire Trainer kit (which is a pricey "dry fire w/ simulated recoil" gas system).
https://coolfiretrainer.com/as...39&pstart=0&recNum=0 The insert holds the follower down enough to not activate the slide catch lever with an empty mag in the gun. And if you use dummy rounds, the insert will hold the top one down so it won't get kicked out when you rack. It's a neat little dryfire tool for a few bucks.
One note, though. Their website only offers USPS flat rate or FedEx shipping. Since I only wanted a $6 pack of inserts, I didn't want to pay $15-17 in shipping. I called and asked if they could send them by regular mail, and they agreed.

Pipe SmokerThe purpose of the dry fire mag puzzled me. I’m now getting the idea that it’s useful only for striker-fired pistols (of which I have none). Correct?

shakazulu12Glock and M&P only currently. They are working on other models now. And yes, striker fired guns only.
