I snagged a 1006 from an estate sale a couple years ago for $400. I was holding my breath until it was in my hands worrying a price hike might be suggested to them. I was able to buy extra mags online for around $50 each. So far I have 5 mags for it. May put some night sights on it as they still make them for a .45 cal 3rd gen model. I can’t believe how much prices have climbed on the 1006.
I also recently bought a Springfield Armory Ronin 1911 in 10mm. I’m have to say I was very surprised with the fit, finish, and great trigger.

Where did you find mags online a couple years ago for $50 each? Market rate for them has been ~$150 each for several years now.
