BuckRogers2000Sending my P224 back to the reservation
I fell in love with my P224, the moment I first held it inmy hand. Unfortunately, it didn't quite go into battery when I first loaded a round in the chamber. Nothing looked amiss, although the magazines are extremely tight. I'd hoped that after a break-in period the problem would go away. It didn't.
Sig customer service has been fantastic, so far. They sent me a recoil spring to see if that alleviated the problem. When it didn't, they emailed me a prepaid shipping label. The work will be done free of charge.
I bought this gun from a dealer on Gunbroker. He listed it as "New old stock".
I hope they get this figured out - Now I have to schlep around something else, until I get it back.

Ted H.What cal?
I had the same trouble with mine in 357, when attempting to use a Sig 40 barrel. 357 had worked flawlessly for years.
Same experience with Sig, fixed right away.

JonFrostI recently got a 225 DAK 9mm off gunbroker, new old stock. Haven't put a lot of rounds through it but so far no issues. I'm sure they will get you up and running in no time.

BuckRogers2000It's a .40 cal, DAK. This presents an issue for me, in that now I want a SA/DA...but don't want to pay the extra $. My 224 was $500.00.
I can't find a SA/DA for less than $800.00.

Ted H.As I recall early 224s had 40 problems and mine was an early one. My guess is yours might be early, and like mine Sig will fix it.
I discovered my problem last year when I purchased the Sig 40 barrel before they were no longer available.

Mountain ManYes, early 40's had a issue with extractor tensioning. They were in a narrow build date. Sig will corect it. Mine didnt have any issues, and i did a 250 round proving range sesion. I have the 357 barrel as backup.

tcfieroJune 2013 was the date with problems. Some have added some oil to the extractor pin on the slide to help it out. Try to move the extractor with your fingers to work the oil in.

FYI the extractor was replaced on mine to correct the problem. Would be interested to hear what Sig does to yours.

BuckRogers2000You guys rock! I sent the gun back last Friday, will keep you posted on the verdict.
I am a .40 devotee, so 9mm won't work for me.
