My very first handgun is my 228 that I bought new in December 1993. Still have it and will never sell it. Am getting ready to get a new M11 A1 now. I've been looking at the prices and wherever I look, they are all priced the same at $1099. Is this really how much they are going for now?

$1099 is the price at the Yooper Dunhams store.

The M11-A1 is a P229-1 variant. Last week, I found out on this forum that the P229-1 is being discontinued, and this was confirmed by Sig.

I recommend holding out, b/c it's highly likely that M11-A1s and other P229-1s will be deeply discounted later this year.

Unless your heart is set on the M11-A1 for some reason, you might consider getting another P228. Lately I've been seeing used M11-A1s & P228s priced the same.

I'm definitely getting an M11. This maybe the last one I'm getting. I retired in 2023 and can't play the same way I used to. My first handgun is my my 228, and I'd like a Sig M11 as the last handgun I buy.

Been on the fence on one of these as well.
$1099.99 is a little hard to swallow, but..............................

I have no idea on these but some manufacturers set a minimum selling price. If a dealer sells below that price they are removed from the approved dealer list and get no more product. If everywhere is at that same price could be this is it. I see it some when I look up guns on Gallery of Guns and our semi-local shop that's ALWAYS the best price is the same as most except for the few that are always higher and still are.

LDB is correct. $1099.99 is MAP.

I would buy pre-owned, unless you can find a new one locally that isn't subject to MAP.

Between purchasing a new production Sig or a classic P228 from an era where their slogan was “To Hell And Back Reliability” - for good reason - I’d go with a German made P228 every time.

LGS has one of these for $749 and I'm really having a hard time resisting. I've had a good week at work and may have to treat myself.
