Target sights for P228
I'd like to shoot pistol at my local Swiss Club matches. It's 2-handed bullseye target shooting at 50 meters, and there is a limited list of pistols allowed. I'm thinking of getting a P210A Target. But I've got several P228's already, feel comfortable with them, and have a 22LR conversion kit for cheap practice at 25 meters. Seems like an easy way to get started.

Any thoughts about what target sights I might use? Adjustable and more precise than the existing combat sights is what I'm thinking.

Thanks for any opinions....

These look like a pretty good option if you're only looking for serrated black on black adjustable sights. These Fusion sights are only $109.00 and Top Gun indicates they've been "discontinued", so I'd grab a set before they run out as there's only "ten sets" left.

Ten bucks more and you can have a fiber optic front sight instead of a serrated black blade:

The Williams are discontinued but they appear in stock. I have no experience with them. Good luck.

I would just run fiber optic Dawson Precision sights. Most of the “target” options out there don’t really do anything better than a good set of Dawson’s.

If I were in your shoes that’s what I would do.

This is what worked for me years ago when my eyesight was better. Sig P228 with stock post rear, and red or green fiber optic front. That combined with some hot ammo like Cor Bon 115+p 9mm. And I could hit the 10in steel plate at our 100 yard outdoor range probably 7 out of 10 times. And trust me. Even though you are shooting 50 meters. You will get more accurate results with hotter ammo. Federal 9bple if they still make it was a close 2nd to Corbon. Good luck.

Let the club check the actual list of apptoved accessories. According to the document, adjustable tsrget sights ar only approved for the P210. If the accessory is not listed, its not allowed.
The P228 is OK, but if you can, limit yourself to the 25m program. 50m is too much of a stretch for s P228.

Bullseye style is usually a square or undercut partridge type front, and a flat wide rear with square notch,
no dots, just black (and traditionally darkened with the soot from a burning plastic fork or spoon,,)

How is the OP going to eat if he sets his fork and spoon afire? Big Grin. You just couldn't tell him of the carbide smoker could you lyman? Big Grin

LPA makes adjustable sights, probably easier to get in Switzerland than US brands.

But LTD says you only get fixed sights on that model. Seems your only option is to black out the white spots on the "combat" sights, or perhaps to buy high profile fixed sights.

A burning spoon for sight black? As David says, the little carbide lamps are made for the purpose. Or you can get a flat black spray which will annoy the others less.

Thanks for the great input from everyone.

@OTG: I hadn't thought about the Swiss rules, but you're probably right. Then I took a look at the CMP Service Pistol rules, and the P228 is not on their list.

So maybe I should just go for the P210A Target and be done with it. (Honey, I tried to save money, but a new gun was the only solution...haha).

Yes! The key word is honey. Do that and you are in. Big Grin. I see the P210A in your future.
