Beretta 92 Target?

Pipe SmokerBeretta 92 Target?
Reading the current Beretta thread, I wondered if there had ever been a target version of the Beretta 92. I.e., sights adjustable for elevation and windage, and SAO trigger. Somewhat to my surprise I discovered that there has been, but apparently designated as the Model 93 Combat.
http://www.berettaweb.com/Bere...eretta-93-Combat.htmProbably bac1023 has a few of ‘em.

ETA: Now wondering if this was a production model…

Jim WatsonThat is a bacgun for sure. Well made, uncommon, not real useful in the American market.
I don't know if the Combat ever made it into production but the Target did.

DanHThe Combat did, albeit in small numbers. Other 92 SOA guns are the Billennium (celebrating the year 2000):
and the 92 Steel:

FredwardThe 92X Performance, perhaps?

cslingerFriend has one. It’s a really cool gun. It sort of checks all the gun geek boxes.
-fairly rare
-cool looking (if a bit over done imo)
-reliable
-accurate
-from a storied brand.
It’s a really cool “gun guy” gun.

It's not single action only in the sense that it can be fired double action, but it has a perfectly usable thumb safety and can be carried cocked and locked.

bac1023The 92 Combat is what you're looking for. Its in the center with a 92 Steel and 92 Competition.

Yeah, I definitely prefer the frame mount safety.
I suspect that the trigger would be positioned further back while the hammer is cocked. That’s the case with my Beretta 87 Target.

Thanks, but the “93 Combat” name is dubious. In the link of my OP scroll down to to the photo that shows the off side of the full pistol.
You can then see “MOD 92 FS - COMBAT” on the frame. But the rear sight, at least, is different than that of bac’s 92 Combat. So maybe a FrankenBeretta.

Its a shame they weren't really imported to the States. About impossible to find these days.
I work with some importers, so I was able to snag one years ago. I've been a collector for decades and I can count on one hand how many 92 Combats I've seen change hands in that time.
Now the 96 Combat was slightly more common here in the States, as they were actively imported for a short time.
