Each post crafted from rich Corinthian leather |
While I arrived late to the writings of this departed author and lawman, I’ve enjoyed his works and the tales he spun. His appreciation of the S&W Model 27 (especially in its 5-inch barreled offering) definitely fueled my own. I’m not currently the owner of a .44 Special sixgun, but my understanding is that any self-respecting Skeeter fan should have at least one - I’ll have to see about correcting this situation of mine. Born 1 May 1928, a tip of the proverbial hat to the late Mr. Skelton. Six-inch S&W K22 and five-inch 27-2 shown below, along with leather gear and headwear from Barranti Leather Co. He was one of a kind. We went through Deming several years ago and I tried to find his grave, but time was short.

Unless there was something especially interesting on the front cover, his column was usually the first thing I read. I really enjoyed his writing.

He was my favorite gun writer, bar none. I enjoyed his stories and his humor. In fact, he was pretty much the only reason I read that particular magazine. Bob
