So I got the idea to put a short reach trigger on one of my P226's yesterday. I've always had a problem getting the Locking Insert to sit back in... well this time it was a major problem and I finally got it back in but not set right and it was totally stuck... I had pretty much decided I was going to have to send it to Sig to deal with but then figured what the heck and I took the hammer assembly apart and that allowed the Locking Insert to release... Yippie! But now I've got just about the whole thing apart and need to put it all back together... setting the pins with the springs right is the problem. I actually have done this on a P239 before with the help of examining two others... Is there a good online video how to reassemble a P226?

You can go to Youtube, and search for "Detail Strip Sig P226." There are several that will come up that are 20 to 40 minutes long. Ignore the 4 minute ones. You'll know after a few minutes whether it's worth watching.

right after I posted I found this super duper graphic video of putting a P226 x5 back together... it helped me until I got to the decock parts ... and I had to take the grip off another P226 to figure that out...

But the video above is absolutely the way to go, guy does a great job and I will book mark it for future reference....

Thanks 1lowlife!

Yes Sir..

Glad you got it figured out..

I had a Lenny Magill Sig DVD years ago.
It is what I used to rebuild a few West German Sigs.
But I couldn't find it on the Youtubes... Cool
