In contrast to my other thread...

https://sigforum.com/eve/forum...0601935/m/5400097284

...I'm posting this one, to show I'm not just a complainer.

Had my P365 milled by Fabricated Arms for a RMRcc. Got it back at the same time as my P320 milled for a RMR, but I noticed the RMRcc wasn't working. Unmounted it, saw one of the battery terminals/tabs looked to have been bent a bit during installation at F/A, so I fixed, that, and re-mounted it torquing it at around 15 inch-lbs. Of course, one of the RMRcc's screws basically melted (at 15 inch lbs? Really?) and the head stripped right off, leaving the body of the screw nicely inside the RMRcc and the milled boss on the slide. Off to the gunsmith it goes, as I'm not equipped with the gear or skill to remove it.

Got it all back today...word from the gunsmith is the RMRcc screws were super soft metal...like must-have-been-a-bad-batch soft, or else cheapo soft. I'll not speculate, but I was disappointed in Trijicon yet relieved that I didn't screw something up (always my first assumption). Gunsmith said he drilled a test hole in some scrap steel and tested these new screws out to 50 inch-lbs before they "snapped", vs. the mushy squish of my stock screws at obviously just under 15 inch-lbs. My gunsmith does excellent work.

Off to the range today, 10 min. from my house...hot day so I hit up the indoor range which is nice and cool thanks to all the concrete, so long as you don't turn on the ventilation system at which point it takes all the heated air in the ceiling ducts and forces it down on to your face.

Two targets setup, one for dot and one for irons.

5 rounds into the dot target (NRA B8) from 30'. Four rounds in right side of the X, one round touching the line. MMMMHMMMM. More confirmation it wasn't me doing something stupid with my P320/RMR setup. I know I can shoot, and I know when something is off with the gear. This little P365 has always been a laser, but really? First 5 shots at 30'? I'm pleased and relieved.

5 rounds into the irons target at 30' (optic turned off). They're a bit right, but a decent group (though about twice the size of the dot group). I figured this was going to happen as the new, suppressor-height irons came centered in the dovetails, but I remember this pistol shoots a bit right for me and I had to drift the stock, rear iron to the left a bit last time. Easy fix when I get home.

Back to the dot target. I move the adjustment on the RMRcc to bring the group slightly left, but leave the elevation alone as it's doing fine with these 115gr Blazer rounds. 5 more rounds, this time at 60' (can't quite get to 25 yards in the indoor range...I'm already basically leaning up against the tables in the back of the range when I'm trying to get 60' as it's a 50' indoor range). All five rounds in the 10 ring, with one going through one of the pre-existing holes on the X ring, and perfectly centered.

EASIEST RANGE DAY EVAH. Why can't they always be like this?

Two thoughts:

1) Texted my gunsmith and he says he forgot to tell me he bore-sighted this in at 50', so that explains why it was so close. I thanked him and acknowledged how lucky I am to have access to his services.

2) I'm now even more perplexed at the dysfunction of my P320/RMR setup, as there is no way I should be able to FAR outshoot that setup using this little P365/RMRcc. It's not even close. I'm wondering if it's a torque spec issue with my RMR, as this CC was torqued down to 15 inch-lbs. Once I get my second RMR in I'll mount it up to the P320 and do what I said I'd do in that other thread.

For now, I'm sharing the joy of an easy range day so as to balance out my other thread. Most enjoyable 15rds I've shot in a long time. Easiest cleanup, shortest time on the range, best confirmation of skill and equipment yet. Sometimes it just works out.
