Has anyone else added a washer to the Fobus 365ND to lighten the retention? I'm a big fan of the Fobus passive retention paddle holsters and most that I've had with my other guns work fine straight out of the bag. However, I've had two different ones for my P365's and both were extremely tight so much so that they almost pull the holster off my belt before the gun breaks loose. And that was with the screw backed out all the way. I've fixed this by adding a small metal washer alongside the red O-ring and leaving the screw finger tight. This still gives me enough retention that I can hold the loaded rig upside down and shake it and the gun does not come out. You can still feel the retention when drawing the gun but it comes out very smoothly without pulling up excessively on the belt. I also paint the silver washer and the red O-ring black. Comments?

Good idea!!! I have a Fobus for my G48MOS and was having the same issue. Thanks for the info.

How to modify a Fobus holster for better results:

Step 1: Prepare your workspace, including making sure you have proper gloves and eye protection.
Step 2: Using a saw, cutoff wheel, or other cutting implement, cut the Fobus in half.
Step 3: Put the two halves of the Fobus in the trash can.
Step 4: Buy a better quality holster.



We're living in the golden age of high quality holster availability. There's no need to resort to stuff like a Fobus or Uncle Mikes when you can get a significantly higher quality kydex holster shipped to your door for ~$20 more, and even higher quality custom leather holsters can be had for just ~$50 more.

You just spent $500+ on a quality handgun... Why resort to shoving it in the absolute cheapest holster you can find?

I agree with RogueJSK. I know it's not the point of the thread but there are better holsters on literally every way for not enough additional money to matter.

So many people want to spend hundreds on a gun, $25 on a holster, nothing on a belt, and feed the gun the cheapest, shittiest ammo they make.

I am glad you guys said it and not me. I jsut bought a used Blackpoint holster for a 365 from the used parts bin at my lgs for 40 bucks. It is a great holster. To many good options to choose from, stay away from fobus and the shitty holster sig puts in their tacpac.

If I were in a positon to absolutely need a holster in the next 48 hours I can get a Safariland off amazon for 40 bucks.

Same with Bravo Concealment. Their stuff ships fast from their website, and many of their holsters are also available on Amazon with Prime shipping. Plus it's only ~$30 for a basic OWB.

It's the upside of their limited gun selection; they always have it in stock rather than waiting for one of 4,731 different holster configurations to be custom molded one at a time.

They're my go-to for when I need a holster now while I wait on something fancier (if they offer one for that pistol).
