Darn things multiply on their own. I left my SS Wilson CQB Elite and my Black over OD Green Wilson CQB alone in the safe overnight and look what happened….

…A Wilson CQB Elite in black over gray was born. No…seriously!!!

Mom and Dad are very proud. Now if I could just tell which is Mom and which is Dad. Big Grin

>>>OK…Real Story

LGS had this used Black over Gray CQB Elite listed at 1800 bucks. I don’t care what’s wrong with it, that’s just too good a price to let it sit there. Especially since I had a store credit from previous trades to cover half of it. Heck, Wilson does a full rebuild including refinish for $566.00. That's a brand new CQB Elite for like $2300-$2400.
(P.S. - There’s nothing wrong with it, not even an idiot scratch.)

Nice, that's a great score. It looks great from the pics. Does it need a rebuild?

I tell my wife the same thing about leaving my guns alone in the safe, that they are like rabbits and multiply on their own. Of course I get the same old stare. Roll Eyes

Nah, the only thing wrong with it is it has a 2-piece guide rod that was stripped. Previous owner couldn't figure out how to take it apart, so it's filthy. He probably shot it till it started acting up and then dumped it. Can't even see the feed ramp through all the crud and there was enough crap in the extractor channel it probably wasn't cycling very well. It's all apart and will soak overnight so I don't have to work so hard to clean it. That 2-piece junk of a guide rod is already in the trash. Hate those things.

Easy peasy, just turn them over and check under the trigger guard. Should be self evident and I'll leave that exercise to you.

That's a beautiful looking baby!

All cleaned up and back together. Had to wait for a standard recoil spring plug to come in. Could have sworn I had a couple spares…oh well, I do now. Replaced recoil spring plug, recoil spring, guide rod, and firing pin spring and verified extractor tension. Put a few hundred rounds of various hardball and hollow points downrange. No hiccups.

Last mag on the way out… and, yep, she shoots like a Wilson.

Oh, and I sent a note to Wilson asking for the build sheet since no paperwork came with the gun. Here's the reply...

Was kinda surprised that gawdawful 2-piece guide rod was part of the original build.
