Didn't see this posted. I know there are some P-10 fans here. I have a 75B.
CZ wins German Military ContractDecember 20, 2025, 10:13 AM
cslingerIIRC it was basically the cheapest bidder who already had some kind of contracts somewhere. They didn’t do any independent testing/trials etc.
Not to say the P10 is a bad firearm or CZ is a bad choice just saying it wasn’t some grueling trial or anything.

pedropcolaI have a couple P10’s. If a Glock sized striker gun was my cup of tea I could see myself picking this one. In all honesty besides a few early cz quirks, I’m looking at you both side mag release, I prefer the P10 to a Glock.
Better trigger, better sights out of box, better texture.

I can't find the source, but I seem to remember the words "NATO approved" and "In NATO use" from somewhere.
The Germans have had an interesting time with the G36, and then replacing it with the (relatively expensive) HK 416 after find the Steyr they were initially interested in came with unresolved intellectual property issues between Steyr and HK. The words "simpler" and "cheaper" may have taken on a charm all of their own.

rat2306The news first began to break on the selection this past July-ish (I think HRK was first to announce it then) but now that it's on the CZ's website the process must be finalized. Good choice from everything I hear.

Nelson Kyle KI happy as hell of my other half heritage and them choosing the the CZ P10C (P13) I have 4 P 10’s P10C,P10F,P10SC and P10S great choice and from recounts from the Ukrainian Armed Forces carrying CZ P10 sidearms and Bren Rifles they have be extremely reliable and highly praised by the Ukrainian soldiers who have them. I really wish the US military would have chosen the P10’s for the official Sidearm.

GocadI´m a bit surprised they went with the C model, but given that a pistol is more like a backup weapon for a solider anyway it´s the right choice though

patwGreat. Now HK will raise the prices even more on their items for us.
As far as the CZ goes, it is a great choice. CZ makes some solid weapons and they know their stuff. They also make them affordable, for the most part, so "Joe Citizen" can afford most of their items compared to HK.

huskerlrrpI have some German friends who said the government has a poor relationship with domestic arms companies. I guess we can see this with SIG and the Colombian military sales drama. Just conjecture.
The selection for CZ doesn't surprise me. Plus it's an excellent weapon for the money.

JonDaddy82Love a P-10 but I still think it's an odd choice vs an HK VP9 or Walther PDP seeing as how those are made there.

Sig Sauer: For HireThe P10C is an excellent pistol, but let's not get too excited. It checked enough performance boxes at a price point the German Army found rather agreeable. The cost factor is likely 90% of ANY procurement process of any military and/or law enforcement agency.

Black92LXFigured for sure HK would drop them a nice price on some VP9s.
Especially since they don’t sell all that well.
Or even Glock dropping the 19 in there.

The VP9 (called SFP9 in Germnay) pretty much won every recent police tender in Germany, so that`s tens of thousand pistols there
Glock was one of the competitors, but I suppose CZ underbid them
