Experience with VP9 OR slide
Anyone here have any feedback on the HK factory optics mounting system? Grabbed a new slide for my VP9 but im wondering if Im better off just having my existing slide milled since I pretty much only use RMR footprint optics anyways.

Considering how difficult VP9 optic plate #2 (for Trijicon & Holosun) is to obtain, and that people are paying $100-200 for them, you could probably get your slide milled for the same price.

Only significant drawbacks I can think of are:
You are committed to that one mounting pattern.
If you want to run w/o a RDS, then you don't have a filler unless you get that custom milled too.

On the other hand, I would expect a custom milled slide to work better than a plate mounting system.

That was earlier this year.... the #2 plates are readily available now. I highly recommend picking up an OR slide. Loving mine.

I have 3 milled and 2 OR slides. I don't find any realistic differences between them when shooting. I would take the OR slide all day long due to the ability to get a different plate if eventually it comes to leaving RMR pattern someday. I struggled a bit to find the #2 plate in stock but it wasn't a massive wait to get one. At this point there are also 3rd party ones.

Primary Arms got #2 plates in stock last night and I ordered two. The limit was three. I have a VP9L OR that will get one, and maybe I will get a regular VP9 for the second one. Personally, I would not get a factory HK slide milled, but that's me.

For my P320 builds I like slides that are cut specifically for the RMR, like the ZEV slides.

Thanks for the replies, I have the correct mounting plates now. I was just curious as to if there were any known flaws. I do like the idea of being able to move away from the rmr in the future should the need arise.

The updated Aimpoint Acro P2 and the Holosun 509T are good reasons why you might want an optic plate pistol.

The updated Acro P2 also has me interested.

The P2 uses the same plate as the P1 and those are easily available.

Do you know if the factory OR tall sights work with the ACRO?
