2000Z-71Chuke and I shoot Glocks 20’s
First video from my range session the other day with my buddy Chuke on his YouTube Channel Chuke’s Outdoor Adventures. This was just comparing my Glock 20 Gen 5 to his Glock Gen 5 V. It was a balmy 7 degrees and not fun for shooting. Majority of our time was shooting revolvers and there will be be more video coming with those.
Spoiler alert, they both feel pretty much the same. I had looked at a Gen 5 V in my LGS and it really did have a crunchy trigger. My own G20 is pretty good for a stock Glock trigger and Chuke’s is pretty much identical. The Gen 5 for me is actually a huge improvement for me, the new grip design actually points for me. Still putting the gun through its paces trying different ammo and researching optic for it.
Interesting to me was all of the outdoor video was shot by him using Oakley Meta glasses. I didn’t even realize he was filming when he first started.

Turbo216That's awesome!! I love Chuke's videos. Chuke and The Turkey's Opinion convinced me that I needed a 10mm. Much like you, my Gen 5 G20 is my first Glock that I can shoot POI instead of low left. I have a Springfield XDM 3.8 in 10mm but I cant shoot a group for shit with it. I'm hoping to dump it for a Gen 6 G29 if they ever materialize.

92fstechNice. Not too surprised that there's no felt difference between the 5 and the V. The changes to the V make virtually no difference to the firing mechanism, just some geometric changes so that the switches wouldn't fit (which we all know was a futile exercise). The crunchiness you felt in the shop was probably just something going on with that specific gun.
I still don't have a 10mm. I've liked the Gen 6 19 and 17 I've handled. And now that I'm back in the Glock world with a 43x, if they release a Gen 6 20 or 29 I'm going to have to give it a serious look. They're not as shootable as my 320s, but like you I'm just not comfortable with that 320 trigger in a woods gun. Even the Glock trigger is kinda pushing it. What would really help sell me on the G20 is if they could slim the slide down a bit compared to the previous gens, but I imagine that bulk is probably necessitated by physics.
We're going back to WY in July, and AK in August (hiking Resurrection pass, really excited about that one!) so who knows, maybe I'll have a new gun for those trips. If not, there's nothing wrong with the 329 except pain and capacity...and the capacity is really a feature, because once you start shooting that thing you're glad it only holds 6!

YooperSigsI have a G29. Its very heavy for its size (or seems that way to me) and is a handful with full power loads. Totally reliable though.
