I saw these, kinda interesting.
They look nice, although I tried aluminum grips on one of my Sigs and didn't care much for them.

I appreciate the suggestion.

I emailed Beretta on Wednesday to confirm the 1992 manufacture date.
They replied today that the date is July 1992 according to the serial number.

When I asked for the date of my 84BB, they had to contact Italy and confirmed the date of manufacture for it was July 16, 1984.

That's some nice customer service.. Big Grin

I don’t care for aluminum grips either. I like G10 and while most things get Hogues I like VZ G10’s on my Berettas and 1911’s.

Very nice. A mid 90s 92fs was also my first handgun. Taught one of my sons to shoot with it. It now resides with him, a gift honoring his service in Iraq.

I was wrong, my Italian has black controls from 2017 and my USA one is a ghost

I'll ask this since you guys know quite a bit.

I remember the stock grip on my old pistol had these cobblestone rubber grips on it.
I purchased a set, and they don't line up as the Hogue grips currently on the new one.

Did I order the wrong grip panel?
Do I need to trim it down a little?
I don't think that would look too good.

Thinking about giving these a shot.
But they also seem to overlap a bit.

I have no idea why those don't fit

Nice pick up! I have 1994 Beretta 92FS Inox with all steel controls as well, and it is a dream to shoot and look at! I feel it is the best vintage of the 92 series other than my year 2000 Bruniton standard production model.

I posted over on Beretta forum a while back and was quickly told that the ghosts are something the Internet made up and had to come with the gray Hogue over molded grips with the Beretta logo to be considered a ghost, but there was never any official ghost sold by Beretta. I don’t care though I think it’s nicer than the one labeled a ghost by the Interwebs.

Here is mine, was pretty pristine when I found it a few years ago, not sure if it had even a box through it.

For many years, all inox 92's came with stainless parts, like my late 90's gun below. To distinguish the guns that came with gray hogue rubber grips, some folks referred to them as 'ghosts'. Having the gray grips from the factory was rare, so they commanded a premium. Fast forward a few years, Beretta started putting black parts on many, and eventually most, of their inox 92's. So the term ghost has expanded to include the older & Italian inox 92's that have all stainless parts. There will always be nostalgic folks who think of all stainless 92's with black rubber grips as "standard" inox and those from the factory with gray grips as "ghosts". The only issue I see is when someone tries to get a higher price from an unsuspecting buyer by referring to a standard inox gun as a 'ghost'. I saw that a bunch while full stainless 92's were available from Italy.

Great find OP! I wish I had an older model with no safety warning and the scale grips. Enjoy!

The black controls just don't look right. The all aluminum/stainless and maybe hard chrome on the small parts looks best.

It's the 90's movie gun:

Those natural aluminum grips make it look even better.

Those can cobblestone grips are factory Farrar Tool grips most likely. Usually have that info on the back or bottom beveled edge.

Oh yeah, that's another awesome movie! So many great gun scenes in that one I'd forgotten all about Jean Reno's Inox 92. It's been too long since I've watched it. I need to correct that.

I think you may be right.
They seem to have a straighter edge where the other ones overlap.
I'll see if I can find a pair of Farrars.

Thank you.

I solved my grip dilemma.
I ordered these OEM rubber grips with the Beretta logo.
I think these come on some of the INOX 92s.

Ironically, they are also made by Hogue.
Same grip with a different logo.
Happy to have a Beretta logo on them.

I had a match tuned 92FS that cracked it's frame. I took all the frame parts and built an all stainless 92FS from parts.

I always thought it was one of the prettiest handguns out there. Not a grail gun for me but I wouldn't pass on one if I happened upon a clean example. Congrats on the purchase.
