In been looking for a 3913nl for years. Everytime I find one I was either out bid on gun broker or risked certain death at home if I bought it over one of our real needs.
Yesterday it finally happened! I traded a xds 45 for it and couldn't be happier.

I copied the URL under "IMG" then selected the photo icon in the message, then pasted it in and removed the extra "IMG" at the beginning and end....if that makes sense.

Nice 3913 NL. Is that AMC's, or one like it? The 3913 NL is highly sought after.

The 3913 NL is sweet in that it has only one safety lever, on the left side, and thus is a bit thinner than a standard 3913 at that location. Not a good thing if you are a leftie, though, unless you figure out how to work around it.

The 3913 is a nice pistol (as are variants like the 3914, 3953, 3954, etc.). For many, it is a good compromise of size (compact), capacity (8+1), and weight (recoil control) in a solidly built, all metal, TDA gun.

I still feel there is a place for a pistol with a safety (in addition to a long, heavy DA trigger pull, both of which are present in the 3913).

The sad thing is, S&W is no longer making these, and parts are going to be hard to find in the future. For now, mags and springs are available -- good idea, perhaps, to stock up!

Be aware that early 3913 grips were subject to a recall. If your grips have no dimple on the bottom, S&W owes you an updated grip if they have them in stock. Since the grips have been changed at some point (the NL originally came with gray grips), it may not be an issue.

^^^^
Just wanted to chime in on the above post. I bought a 3914LS about six months ago and it had the old style grip. I contacted S&W and I had a new grip in under two weeks.

Thanks for the info. I'll check the grips when I get home.

I believe in order to convert third gen's from safety/decock to decock only requires some machine work on the slide. Smith used to do this as a service but you would have to check with them and see if it is still offered.

I called S&W and it's not something they do anymore. I also shot an email to Grayguns to see if they can do the work but haven't heard back yet.
