By "out of commission", I meant in the longer term during repair of a broken optic. You'd have to send the entire slide in for the broken integral optic to be fixed/replaced, with the gun being unusable in the interim since it doesn't have a slide.

Compared to being able to unmount a broken optic while you continue to use the still-complete gun. (And even swap in another optic yourself in the meantime.)

It's never going to be an issue. This is a toy, a conversation piece, nothing more. Beretta knows this.

I'm aware.

That whole discussion was in response to MacGyver advocating for the idea of an integral optic slide for non-toy use.

I like it. I like it a lot. I’m sure it would be priced above what I’d be willing to pay, but it’s got classic style unlike the Sig Liberace models.

I'm guessing we are not 'European enough' to appreciate it. Smile

I would love to own one.

I doubt I will ever have funds sufficient to buy.

^^^As I understand it, it’s a one-off. It’s not going into production anyway. I’m curious though about whether or not they’ll decide to make a less blingy version in the future and put it in the catalogue.

The thought of shoving my finger into its eye to drop the mag makes me a little... blinky. Eek

It is good that they are trying different things and being innovative.

Blingy? Yes. Having a duck on the grip can be overlooked if they added a shotgun Wink

One thing that seems to be overlooked is that this is part of their 500th anniversary.

After thinking about what Sig put out for their 125th, this is somewhat restrained.

I've gotta admit, I'd be curious to try that version of a trigger with a dingus. I think that's the first time I've seen a smooth trigger face meant to wrap around the dingus when the trigger is pulled.
