Question about converting SRT to DAO Login/Join

In classic Sigs I prefer DAO to DA/SA, but have only found one factory DAO, a P228. I had another P228 and P245 converted to DAO. To accomplish this I bought several factory DAO hammers, and had my gunsmith switch them out.

So now I have acquired a P239 SAS DA/SA that has SRT, and the sweetest DA I have ever experienced on a Sig. Question for those of you in the know===> can the SRT be converted to DAO as easily as the earlier Sigs without the SRT feature? Thanks for your input!

Odd question. I’m not sure I have an answer for it. But I don’t think it would since DAO would reset at the same point every time.

The P239 SAS DA/SA SRT is the height of Sig pistols IMHO, and I would not jack with it.

If you /had/ to do it, you want DAK rather than DAO. DAO is a whole other animal, but the DAK system was designed to be a fairly easy switch.

(USCG used it extensively on the P229.)

In fact, the first gen P239 SAS was a really sweet DAK with custom wood stocks. Beautiful gun.

(The DA/SA was way more popular, though. The second gens were the DA/SA SRT you have now. I used to have a three of them, have since sent them off to live with some retired agent friends of mine who used issued P239s as backup guns on the job and deserved a really outstanding retirement gift.)

I've not done the switch, but I don't see why a DAO hammer will not work with an SRT kit.

I'd bet you might could find someone here with a P239 in DAK that really prefers DA/SA and might be wiling to trade.

This is a great idea. I have passed on a few SIGs that had DAK because I prefer DA/SA. Unfortunately, I don't have a DAK trigger system to trade, or else I would.

ETA: I read the OP again and I see he is referring to DAO rather than DAK, but I think I would still look for a trade...

Yeah, you are probably right. I never seem to run across any DAK in gunshops. I will probably reconsider this.

Thanks for all your input. I have shot it twice more, and it shoots really good. As an old revolver shooter I am better at DA than SA, especilally when the SA has takeup to get there like Sigs do. But I can put up with that. Thanks again.
