I haven’t posted here for awhile although I stop by to gain information.

Recently purchased a FN Reflex MRD and mounted my Holosun 507 optic. Break in was a bit dicey. First 200 rounds would occasionally have a failure to feed. Mostly with low power plinking ammo. When cleaning it, I noticed the cartridge guide was “sandpaper” rough. This surface was very smooth on all my other pistols.

Using 220 then 600 grit sandpaper, fine milling paste, then Wenol polish the surface became glass smooth. Problem has been solved. Almost seems like a final machining or polishing step was missed.

Trigger is quite smooth with a crisp break. Reset is a bit long but does not seem to be problematic. Accuracy is good.

I was randomly trying holsters I had to see if one would work. Fortunately, a Garrett Silent Thunder I had for a now sold HK P2000SK fit perfectly.

"cartridge guide" - I have never heard of this term, but I think I know what it is. Is it the same as the feed ramp?

Perhaps it is a feed ramp that identifies as a cartridge guide.

The cartridge guide is the raised flat surface centered on the underside of the slide. I never knew it had a name. I only found out about its name when looking through the Reflex owner’s manual. Page 47 if you look it up online.

The feed ramp was nicely polished from the factory.

Many people complain about the triggers and pull weight on the FN pistols but I like them. My 509T has a great trigger and functions perfectly. Glad to hear you got it going good.

Nice looking EDC. Looked at Reflex myself, thought the trigger was better than 509 or 510 that I'd tried.

Instead went with a 509cc Edge that is finding its way into the EDC rotation.

I am interested in trying the Reflex but was put off by the cost of magazines. The ones I looked at were $50.

I found a place where the magazines are a bit more reasonable.

It's a neat pistol, and I hope they choose to offer it with a manual safety, also. Couple things to stay abreast of, here:

I appreciate cost is higher than other magazines but this is a carry gun. Aside from the magazine in the gun, I carry the second magazine that came with the gun as a spare.

For me, the minimum amount of magazines for any auto loader is 4. And six is better. I then rotate them to ensure even use and longevity.
So... to get 6 magazines total: 4 X $50 = $200. The MagShack magazine deal is enough to make me look at the Reflex now. Thanks!
