Still trying to decide if I want to trust my life to one of these versus my SIG P239?
Anyone know if they are working well? Any concerns?

Glock forums and here problems with the 43 have been the exception , with most reports being zero malfunctions. One problem reported early on was mags hanging up on the mag release upon insertion. Granted the size sample might be limited at this point. My 43 has been flawless at 500 rounds. MG

Sounds like too many problems to be considered a reliable EDC type of gun.
I think I will continue with my SIG P239 for EDC.
Anyone else have any experiences with it?

My 43 has been flawless. I put another 450 rounds through it this weekend making it a total of 2,450 rounds without a hitch. That said, I am a lefty, so bumping the slide lock doesn't happen with me (and one of the reasons I despise guns with ambidextrous slide stops--the Walther PPQ I sold for this very reason, and why I don't shoot my CZ85 much).
I carried two different 239's in the past, and they are great guns. It's a time proven design and I would have no problems staking my life on one.

As the amount of real estate on a firearm shrinks, it becomes more prone to size-related malfunctions. Glock appears to have anticipated interference with the slide stop lever by putting a very pronounced, contoured ledge below the lever apparently designed to channel the thumb below the ledge and protect the lever more than the traditional “U” found on other Glock pistols. It just may not work with all hands and shooting techniques. I would consider putting something like whiteout correction fluid on the lever to try to determine how/where it is contacting the shooter’s hands
As for the picture I posted earlier with the heavily canted top round, the magazine has fixed itself and is like all the others. I consider mine to be reliable at this point, with just under 500 rounds fired.

I installed the Ghost trigger bar connector and Vickers slide release to mine. Went very easily. The only hiccup I encountered was the only way to remove the trigger pin was to put downward pressure on the tab in the middle of the slide release while pushing the pin. Absolutely would not budge any other way. I laughed at how easily the pin came out once I tried the above method. Trigger is noticably softer. The takeup seems slightly (and I do mean slightly) mushier, but the reduction in pull weight was worth it to me. Put 200 rounds through it with the new add ons and overall I'm happy with both. Trigger feels good. The vickers slide release is a must IMO.This message has been edited. Last edited by: Andyb, June 08, 2015 09:59 PM

Was that a trigger bar you installed or a Connector?

Only way to know is to buy one and shoot the stuffing out of it.

What few options there are for non LEO Californians to own the G43... I'm glad I passed on the couple that were offered me for trade or sale.
Now I'm off to buy that nice old smooth finger grip G26 again This message has been edited. Last edited by: RANGER20, June 10, 2015 12:19 AM

I have only 200 rds through mine. No issues so far. No malfunctions of any kind. I have not yet decided to carry the 43 full time as I don't feel its vetted yet. Still carrying a 19 as my primary. Also, I haven't found a holster that I really like yet. I need some suggestions.

I think it was Guns and Ammo that just completed a test of various pocket 9mm pistols. For once, it seems rather objective. They put 1000 rounds through each pistol during the testing. Only 3 made it from start to finish without any malfunctions IIRC. They are the G43, Walther PPS and I believe the Bersa.

I like mine. I shot it today next to my trusty NYPD turn-in Kahr K9. I've got about 400 rounds through my 43 now with no malfunctions. I like the size and its recoil is very manageable. I still shoot the K9 better but I've had it longer.
The K9 is my primary CCW and I thought the Glock 43 might usurp it but not yet. I still think the K9 is the most perfect CCW I've seen. I like the stainless construction, the trigger, and it's been 100% reliable since I got it.
There's nothing wrong with the Glock 43 though. In my eyes the K9 just set a pretty high bar to beat.
The three winners were the Glock, the PPS (which they liked the best), and the, and many people will not believe this, Taurus 709 (which they were very happy with.)

I had the same problems with my new Vickers G17. I discovered my thumb was pushing the slide stop upwards, causing the slide to lock back prematurely. I switched it out with the stock one, and the issue was solved.
