What I like about the 43x is how scalable the gun is. For the lightest option possible, 10 round mag with an optic.

I can carry 11 in the gun with a 10 round pocket reload. Or 11 in the gun with a 15 round shield arms pocket reload. Or I can add 2 ounces to the gun by carry 16 in the gun with a Shield mag. And I can add a light if I want.

The Bodyguard is just not in the same class as the other two guns. It's really a pretty good .380, but I would put it up against the various LCPs and Glock 42.

The new S&W .380 Bodyguard 2.0 is a great gun and is much better than the original by leaps and bounds. Mine has been nothing less than stellar with quite a few different ammo types being run through it - fmj and jhp. Granted I only have about a few hundred rounds through it but this thing is quite amazing. It conceals/hides away easily but like someone else said, it really can't compare to the other 2 options due to caliber. If you were looking at a Shield, I would get the 2.0 Plus, at least that is what I did.

I have had the 43X and a 48 but with my grip, I get slide bite. They function great, as any Glock would, I just wish Glock would do a couple things to the design. 1) Make a larger beaver tail for it without having to add any additional parts. And #2) Which I don't think can be done due to it's design, is to increase the capacity of factory mags. I bought some Shield mags-(Glock 43x metal mags not S&W brand) and a metal mag. release. Mine functioned pretty well but trying to swap back to the original factory polymer mags when practicing, the metal mag. chewed up the mags a bit.

I wanted to love the P365 and have owned many versions of it-the base model p365, 365x and the Spectre Comp model. I had to swap out the front sights on all of them, not because of the X-Ray sight being no good but because of the combat sight picture is not like other guns I own. The P365 fired great but everyone has their preference and you will see what fits your hand the best. The P365 is an excellent shooter but after trying them all out, the Shield 2.0 Plus fit my hand best and gave me the most natural sight picture without having to adjust my wrist. It just fit.

I would go to a gun range and handle the ones you are seriously looking at to see what works best. It will save you both time and money, trying to find the best gun for you and your needs.

Been through the P365 and the G43X. Now settled on the Shield+, which to me is so far the best in this class. Handles recoil better than both just like the original Shield did, but with a welcome girthier grip and greater capacity.

But limiting it between the SIG and the Glock I prefer the SIG. Better operating trigger makes for better, more accuracy in my shots. Slightly less felt recoil to me with the P365. Only negative is its proprietary rail, if a WML is desired. And arguably the non-inertia block trigger bow.

As for the Bodyguard 2.0; just on caliber alone it's just not in the same class if we're talking about the 9mm P365. I like the gun's petite size, but its ballistics make it a comparable to the LCP Max, P365-380, G42 and other "micro" 380s that are on the market rather than the micro 9s. The BG380.2 does shoot nicely, better than my Ruger LCP Max, but so does the .380 SIG and the Glock. Of those better three I still think the SIG is the best of the bunch in terms of shootability, though unlike with the 9mm guns, the difference is much less, though the G42 also has a relatively 'sucky' trigger (much like the 43X) compared to the SIG and the S&W.

This may not be much help but here goes. My G26 had a stronger recoil impulse than my P365 does. The P365 hold the same number of rounds while taking up less space. It was kind of a no brainer after that.

Glock 43, then P365 is you think you need more than 7 rounds to settle a problem.
.380 round is a bit light; even a woman can easily handle 9mm.

Many thanks. John

Wife carries the new S&W Bodyguard 2.0, and it's amazing. Best pocket gun on the market that I've experienced.

I carry the S&W Shield Plus Performance Center 4" and it's one hell of a shooter and conceals very well.

If you've made up your mind, I respect that.

For me, I tried and tried to like the P365 but the grip was too small and, since I like night sights on my SD firearms, I found the ones on the P365 about the worst I've seen.

I made the P365 (I still have one left) better with a Wilson Grip Module and have ordered a set of Night Fision sights for it.

As to shootability, it's, IMO, adequate, but there are better shooters for me.

The P365XL is great, just a hair bigger than I prefer.

The Glock 43 is nearly perfect, as to size and feel, but the very limited mag capacity makes me use it as a vehicle gun.

The 43X, OTOH, is perfect for me. Night Fision sights, and the Glock Store Magwell work wonders for me. The grip is better than the P365, by miles,IMO, and I carry a PSA 15 round mag plus a 10 round OEM Glock mag. (If you haven't seen that little Magwell, Lenny has a video about it. I saw it, decided to take a chance-I never liked those add-on magwells-and was very surprised and pleased.

I read when the PSA Mags first came out that some folks had some trouble they traced to plastic inside the mag body messing with the mag spring. I have two 15 rounders from PSA and both are smooth as a baby's bottom inside the mag body. Perhaps PSA fixed the problem-I don't know. Mine work perfectly.

The 2.0 Bodyguard is a sweetie and I have posted my results with it before. Reliable, accurate and, for a 380, pretty near perfection.

The Shield plus is a better equivalent than the Bodyguard 2.0. That said, The P365x comes better equipped than the 43X and Although the P365X conceals easier, I shoot the 43X better. I also shoot the Shield plus better than both. Good luck with your decision.

Not “a GLOCK guy” but I really like the slim line guns 43x/48. They draw perfectly, point really well, shoot better then the others for me and are the most comfortable guns I’ve ever carried. I don’t love the Smith or SIG triggers and I really don’t trust modern SIG durability.

I cannot speak to the Shield Arms or PSA mags for the Glocks and while I feel their capacity on paper is lacking I don’t really feel like 11 rounds is lacking in real life and an extra mag is trivial to carry. I didn’t WANT to like these Glocks this much, but their shoot-ability, comfort, ease and speed of draw and point-ability for me have trumped any negatives for me.

Honestly all three of your choices are perfectly fine choices (no experience with the .380 Smiths but the Shields are solid choices).

I don't have a S&W bodyguard but do have a P365x and Glock 43x MOS. There are things I like about both pistols and both will serve most people extremely well. For me, I just trust the durability of the Glock more, especially in moderately heavy use.

My problem was not the girth of the grip or the softness, it was that the length of the grip was too short. Fingers wouldn't fit on the module.

It might help but I would try the Wilson Combat grip module. It has a larger grip and makes a noticeable difference.
I could never keep the slip-on grip sleeves in place when drawing quickly.
