SIG Sauer has corrupted GLOCK (remember the rainbow SIG'S)???
My local Scheels had two different models in their NEW GLOCK section. We now have 80's themed GLOCKs. The youngest Miss BB61 liked it. I'm not sure if I've failed her as a father or not now.

There are a lot of "distributor exclusive" Glocks. They range from the very mundane (like the Lipsey's exclusive gray and FDE frames) to fairly involved things like that. Some of them are created by Glock (the Lipsey's guns I mention above are factory-built) and others are shipped to the distributor as a plain black pistol and modified (the one you found would be like that).
There is a part of the market that is looking for things like this and while I think it's terrible looking, it's hard to argue with more people owning more guns.

Glock typically has very little to do with the vast majority of these "creations". Their distributors will often contract with outside parties to do various makeovers to 'liven up' the "Glock" product range...and to charge more and increase their profit margin for each unit sold. From simple frame color changes to two-tone to stipple work to fully RDS and weapon light-kitted packages to...er...um...whatever THAT purple/teal 80s Miamish thingy is called...it's all in the name of providing something more diverse for public consumption and increasing a distributor's sales and profit. After all, there's only so many basic black Glock wonder nines a person can stomach...

The same 'people' that came up with the idea that Joe Camel was designed to sell cigarette to children will have a field day with this abomination.
Is that a microchip on the mag release? Is it one of those smart guns?

... That's a standard Gen 4/5 mag release.

Sig is guilty of their fair share of questionable finish decisions, but I don't think we can hang this on them.
This is on the heads of the buyers. These companies aren't deciding what we like, we are, when we purchase things like this.
Much like the rainbow Sigs, I'd have zero interest in this gun, but people can do whatever they want with their own money.

Glock (Lipsey's) taking advantage of the anemoia phenomenon. If genx or boomers are buying this it should be 10mm at least. Wonder what it looks like under a blacklight.
I did a little digging, and these definitely aren't factory Glocks (which we already knew based just on the laser cut grip and custom slide), and aren't even distributor-made Glocks.
They're made by a company called Shark Coast Tactical.
My local fun shop had an “80’s night” version. Sadly it had sold when I went back the next week.

As a teen of the late 80's who grew up watching Miami Vice I would so own a set of those Canik's just for the novelty. And the Glock isn't half bad either.

Making a real gun look more like a toy to some people just sounds like a bad idea to me in a litigious society.

Things from the 1980s and 1990s are currently popular with the teens and 20-somethings, despite the fact that they weren't even born yet during those decades.

Where's that GIF of Jerry Seinfeld eating the popcorn and saying "That's a shame" when you need it?

I can understand that. I really like warbirds from WWII, and old guns, and 1960s-70s hot rods and motorcycles, and classic rock and big band music. And westerns. And mountain man stuff.
