What’s the best after-market Gen 3 mag release for old arthritic hands?

The factory extended one works fine for me in all my Gen 3s. --------------------------- My hovercraft is full of eels.

+1 It's also the G20/21 release.

The cake is a lie! |
The Tango Down version is sort of in-between height of factory and factory extended, but with rounded corners for better comfort.

Another vote for the Tango Down/Vickers piece.

I’ve got to go with these dudes. I’m a big fan of the Tango Down mag release for all the reasons mentioned by these fine fellas. My preferred Gen3 set up is a Tango Down mag release and the standard slide lock lever. A minus connector and smooth G17 trigger for the compacts and subcompacts.

My vote is for this one. My Gen 3 Glocks all got the same treatment (factory extended mag release and factory extended slide stop lever). Worked perfectly for me. Though I understand there are a few aftermarket options that have "wrap-around" button shapes resembling the later Gen 4 and Gen 5 Glocks. Formerly known as tigerbloodwinning

Yup, Tango Down/Vickers. Easy to engage when you want to, and I find it doesn't accidentally pop my mag free like the factory extended did to me a few times. I also like their slide stop better than the factory extended while we're at it. Better purchase without getting in the way of a thumbs forward/high grip. ______________________________________________ Carthago delenda est

For me it would depend on what I am using the pistol for-carry, home defense, shooting range,etc.. For the range or even home defense, if it is not in a holster, I like the ZEV extended mag release. I had one for a long time and makes it much easier to access/press the release with the larger pad on it. For a ccw pistol, I might go extended and cut it down so that it does not interfere with the holster.

Agreed on the factory extended mag release.

I would not recommend the factory extended mag. release for a carry gun. They are way too easy to activate. I found this out many years ago when I would sometimes wear my Glock 34 when doing work on my property. Bending, squatting, reaching, etc. popped mine loose a couple of times. Something that never happened with the standard length release. The Tango Down/Vickers is a nice middle ground.
