I had two Ruger Security Sixes which were police trade ins. Since you can disassemble the pistol by removing the grips, both pistols had the grip screws staked so you could not remove them and tinker or take apart the pistol.

Everybody has a different price point for damaged goods (even if untrue). Mine would be well south of $200 for a used one, and probably max $300 for a m17 with a safety. They are probably available for that near me but no dealer will touch one and I'm too skittish to try the private seller market.

So we just got in 5 new full-size P320s for work. The label on the box used to say CHICAGO just like the OP's, but somebody took a black marker and covered over that portion of the model name. These are brand new guns, so I guess maybe originally intended for the CPD market but then re-labeled and shipped to other distributors after the ban? I don't believe they had that anti-tamper takedown lever, either, but I'll have to check and confirm for sure.
Can any of our CPD guys give some clarification on this? It's my understanding that CPD doesn't issue duty guns and that officers have to buy their own off an approved list. If that's the case, can they just go out and buy an approved model gun anywhere, or are there only certain stores they're supposed to buy from, or very detailed and specific model numbers they can order? I'm curious why Sig had a specific CHICAGO model P320, and how they ensured that officers got that specific variant instead of any run-of-the-mill P320 off the shelf.
Considering the reported issues, true or not, I'd almost have to get it for free. When you consider the ammo that I'd shoot, practice and carry, before I'd consider it worthy of self-defense use, than subtract the diminished value from the reputation, the numbers just don't work for me.
The same here, i keep contemplating every time i see their email ads, had to run over when they had 229's, now when i see the fire sale on 320's i question "Should i go for a ride?" but I'm skittish because I've never really liked a poly striker fired, i tried to force myself to like DAKThis message has been edited. I used to love 320’s. I still think they are phenomenal shooters. That being said I wouldn’t buy one with your money. Too many questions out there. Not questions of whether they just go off but questions of are they banned at your range, banned at your matches, could you ever have a chance to sell one and get some of your money back, etc.
I still have a couple left. If anybody is local and wants to try them out I’m game. I now consider these the ultimate truck gun. They are practically valueless from a money standpoint so truck gun it is. lol. (I don’t leave guns in cars if at all possible)

I'd like to know where they are cheap. Locally, a used in the less desirable .40 cal will cost you 450 used. To my knowledge, none of the local ranges have banned them.
