P320 Slide internals: Sig or Grey Ghost? Login/Join

Hello,

I am going to dip my toe into the P320 waters, to add to my P220s and P226.

To make a long story short, the P320 I am getting is a full size, and I want to rebuild the factory slide with a new slide completion kit.

In looking around, I see the Sig P320 slide kit and another one made by Grey Ghost.

I want smooth action, crisp trigger 'break', but safe for holster/nightstand/self-defense.

I have the other slide that is set up with an RMR and is 'all that I want', but I want to be able to just swap slides between RMR and Iron Sights when I want.

Is there a significant improvement in the smoothness/operation of the Grey Ghost striker over the Sig kit?

Or is all the smoothness/crispness withing the trigger/fire control unit?

Thank you

It does not look like that is an aftermarket striker. That looks to be all SIG OEM parts other than the Slide Cap. The Slide Completion Kit includes a photo of the striker that looks to have the standard MIM marks.

All the smoothness and crispness would happen with the trigger and parts within the FCU. So you may be interested in a new trigger - like one from Grayguns. Wink

But before making any changes or spending money, I would shoot the gun as-is and see how you like it. From that point, you can make up your mind as to what you would like the trigger to feel like.

Your post indicates you may already have another P320 slide. But yes, you can easily have a slide with a dot and one with irons. Most of the P320 slides I have are all irons, but I do have a Pro Slide with a Romeo1 Pro - an easy swap.

There are quite a few aftermarket options for the P320. I'm biased, but Grayguns has some good stuff, including full slides. One of the best options out there would be a trigger (straight, hybrid or curved, depending on your preference) and also the laser-sculpted grip module. Your OP does not indicate you'd be a candidate for the competition trigger kit.

The Modern Classic and Lockwood slides are great and make it a super flat shooter, especially with the bull barrel, but it is an expensive upgrade.

Evil exists. You can not negotiate with, bribe or placate evil. You're not going to be able to have it sit down with Dr. Phil for an anger management session either.
