So I changed my mind, and downvoted the 4” or even 3” GP and I’ve ordered a 3” SP101. Still small enough to throw in a coat pocket to go to the mailbox, still compatible with all the 357 ammo I have laying around.

Now the waiting- it’s a Wiley Clapp so they gotta order it.

Very nice. I went with the big brother to your SP101. The Ruger 1789 GP100 Wiley Clapp II.

I have a regular SP101 I purchased a decade ago, but would've went with the WC version for the better sights if I could do it again.

The GP100 WC II has a front tritium sight. Does your SP101 have the same?

The 3" SP101 is a great gun. I sold mine to my brother to fund a 3" Model 60, and while I don't regret the Model 60, I do miss that SP101. The J-Frame is a little trimmer and nicer for carry, but the beefiness of the SP101 is nicer for shooting, and it still carries very well. Mine wasn't the Wiley Clapp version, either...if it had been I probably wouldn't have let it go. You're going to enjoy that gun.

I installed shims on my 357-GP-100 Wiley on the hammer and hammer-dogs----made a luvly improvement.
they cover many models................
In my spare time I'll install a better fit set in my MC also

Good idea. I have a set on order for my MC. It was supposed to have them from the factory. When I pulled the grip off, the hammer shims were laying in the bottom inside the grips. Not the ideal location to help!!!

I have a nearly 35 year old GP100 that was bought new at Walmart back when they still had pistols. I think it was 1990-91. I remember the price was $300+ tax. Still have two 357s, but rarely shoot them any more due to the cost of ammo.
