I've looked through the serial number thread for this with no luck. I've tried the search function and looked around the net...No luck. When did the G go away in favor of the 37A prefix on the P220 serial number. Also, what was the first year production output with the 37A SN format? Thanks for any help offered. ______________________ Live free or die... Don't tread on me... Molon Labe... Take your pick.

The most recent G serialized P220 I have is from 2016. No idea how many P220s were made in '76.

The P220 in question, I am assuming, was manufactured in 2013/14 or so. SN 37A006XXX. I edited my op for clarity on the first year production output question. ______________________ Live free or die... Don't tread on me... Molon Labe... Take your pick.

My last P220 was born 2014 and had a 37A S/N. I don't know when the G was dropped. I first thought the pistol was a P220 .22 with a .45 conversion because of the S/N. Later a call to Sig confirmed it was born a .45. . .

The earliest I have seen of the new/current numbering system for the P220 is late 2010. This system is all SIG USA. The Germans were still using the old system until about 2015 or so, when they switched to their own new system that ran until the company expired late last year. Q
