SSAreGreatSIG MK25 SIG Night Sights Sizes
I need some advice on putting my SIG night sights back on my SIG 226 MK25. I ended up with two sets of SIG night sights because I had to have slide replaced. The original factory configuration calls for a No. 8 front and No. 6 rear sight. I also have a set of SIG night sights that are No. 8 front sight and No. 8 rear sight.
Since the factory specifications calls for No. 6 rear sight I assume I should simply go with that configuration?
I have two sets of sights because when they replaced my slide they use parts for my old slide which was damaged to build a new slide to save me a few dollars and thus kind of getting two sets of sights back.

powermadUse the 8/8 set on the new slide.
The other slide takes the 8/6 which is a terrible set up as you are screwed when it comes to sight choices.
My 229 Select came with an 8/6 set, I fixed that with an RX slide assy.

Thanks powermad. My M11-A1 came with a 6/6 which makes more sense. I have the Trijicon HD Orange Night Sights on my P226 MK25 now which are great for fast target acquisition but I remember shooting more accurately with the original SIG night sights. A little longer to focus but less of the target covered.

powermadThe Trijicon HD XR is highly visible and has a narrow front post and wide U shape rear.
My tightest groups are with the HD XR iron sights.

That result is good to hear. Maybe I need to give them some more time and try adjusting my aim. Thank you.

powermadThere are two types of HD sights. HD and HD XR
The HD XR has a .122" wide front post and the HD has a .144" wide front post.
Both have a .169" wide U notch rear.
With the HD XR sights I can hit 2" & 4" spinners more consistently at 15 yds and have tighter groups at 25 yds using a combat sight picture.
Other sights I have to compare to are Ameriglo Idots, XS DXT2, Stock Siglights, TFO front, Xray3 and some Speedsights that didn't work on anything.

My Trijicon sights are just the HD one's. I am going to the range tomorrow and will be shooting my 226 so I am going to give it another try.

Do you still have those Speedsights? If so, are you looking to get rid of them?

They are 8/8 day sights with a green front.
The rear sight is a loose fit and the set screws jack it up a bit much, I was going to send it back but never got around to it.
If you want to mess with them you can have em.
Email me your address and I'll send them out.
