PDP dead trigger issue!!!

sigfamilyman_220PDP dead trigger issue!!!
what happened to firearms manufacturers accountability? this is not just Walther alone, it is with several companies within the firearms community. I think some of us know a few! So I have purchased 2 PDP SF match 5 inch guns, I also purchased a 4.5 inch SF PDP, also purchased a 5 inch polymer match PDP, then I purchased the pistol I have an issue with; the Walther PDP full size grip polymer frame with 4 inch slide. I purchased this thinking I was getting the same quality and perfection of the other PDPs however this new PDP is a 2022 version even though I bought it brand new and it has the dead trigger issue. If you do not know what it is, you can look it up on YouTube as it is well documented and several police departments would not adopt the PDP because of this issue. I reached out to Walther customer service to see if they would fix the pistol and they would not!!! They wanted me to spend another 250.00 to buy a new slide and would not take accountability for their issue, as this is not my issue, I did not create this, my pistol is 100% stock. Why are these companies not taking accountability for their mistakes instead of placing it on the consumer, I have been a loyal Walther customer and even shoot USPSA with my Walther 4.5 SF, however this is very disheartening and makes me question if I should continue to stand by another company that wont take accountability and has horrible customer service!!!

pedropcolaThat sucks. I’m surprised you didn’t know about this issue before purchase. I never knew when the redesign occurred but I guess after 22.

2AdefenderCall Walther CS back and speak with a different person. Politely demand that they repair it under the warranty. You might get a better result bringing the issue up to someone else.

I really hope you can get Walther to fix this, because selling it means giving full disclosure about the issues you're having, and I gotta say, that would be a deal breaker for any potential buyer. Good luck.

Sgt 127That’s pretty sorry of Walther. I think I’d keep working my way up the customer service ladder. As absolutely sweet and congenial as I could be.
If that failed, my new mission in life would be to curse the Walther name to everyone I met. On every forum I’m a member of and, generally rant until my rage subsides

1flynDOAny resolution of the issue? Did they repair it?

BB61I’ve sent my Walther P22 and PPQ 22 back for repairs and they were very accommodating and fast. I don’t know how you approached them but I’d call again and mention how many Walthers you own and how surprised you are it has this problem. Better yet, I’d email them so you have a paper trail.

Well I called Walther CS and politely asked them to repair it under warranty and got a hard NO, acted like it was no big deal and again stated I can buy a new slide if I wanted for 250.00!!!

Called them back and they didn't care, still not fixing it, I have nothing good to say about Walther at this point and am currently speaking my mind publicly on every platform I am able to.I just have spent so much money with them, as I have 5 other Walther pistols and shoot the 5 inch PDP in USPSA competitions.

I actually started by emailing them first and explained the issue, along with the fact that I own 5 other Walthers and even shoot USPSA competitions with their pistol and got a response back stating I can buy a new slide for 250.00 and is not a warranty issue. I then called them yesterday and politely stated again my issue, that I owned 5 other Walthers and shot competitively with them and still same response of its not a warranty issue, they advised it was not a big deal and told me I can buy a new slide for 250.00, I then said I guess I will be selling my PDP and he said ok, have a good day and disconnected the line.....

As you can see from the photo, the front PDP you see(the 1st one in the pic) you can see they cut the disconnector notch too big, the back one is how it is supposed to look and this is what they want me to pay for!!!! Their mess up!!!

MacGyverDidn’t the PPQ have this issue as well? To the best of my knowledge, this was a consequence of Walther “converting” the P99’s DA/SA trigger to SAO for the PPQ (and later PDP).

Blackwaterwish I could say I was surprised, but I've had issues with them also. Getting spare or replacement parts can be challenging with them.

Well. It’s good to have a purpose in life.
Since all my Walthers date from the 1940’s to 1980 or so, it won’t affect me. But, I likely wouldn’t buy a new one. Especially now. People have had problems with some of the new Colts and were told the warranty is one year. That’s just not cool on $1000-1800 guns.
How far up the customer service chain did you get?
