S&W Model 986 - Why am I such an easy sale?

I had a Ruger LCR 9mm. Several range sessions, last round in every cylinder the bullet had walked forward at least .020"

This was every time. No exceptions. Tried every brand of 9mm factory loads that I had, and every brand that a friend who shot with me, had. I tried handloads with increasing crimp. Nothing worked. Whatever ammunition I used, the bullet in last round in the cylinder had walked forward at least .020" -- in one batch of factory ammunition, I opened the cylinder to measure the last round an the bullet and powder fell out.

I sold the gun. Told the buyer exactly why I was selling it, but he bought it anyway.

Sounds like S&W is still having serious QC issues.

I want to give them a second chance after the debacle with the 43C I had but this coming out of the PC is disconcerting.

Update-moonclips. Since the TK Custom clips require much force and consternation without the tools, I was carrying the in-cylinder and spare cylinder of cartridges in the competing design moonclip depot metal clips. Really nice design. But after church I reached into my sport coat pocket for the spare moonclip and found it unloaded. Five of seven rounds were loose in pocket. Looks like the split finger arms can be mashed closer together and twisted. Muy no bueno. TK Custom clips and tools ordered!
