Delrin Pin and Armory Craft Trigger? Login/Join

I have just ordered and waiting delivery on an Armory Craft Flat trigger for my newly acquired P226 Scorpion.

Any tips from those who have installed this would be greatly appreciated.

Did you have to file down the delrin pin for the pretravel prior to installing the locking block?

Also, can I use a dremel to sand down the delrin instead of a file, while the trigger is installed? I plan to tape off the frame to avoid scratching it..

I'm not looking forward to do trial and error, installing and uninstalling lol so tips would really help.

Thank you in advance.

Dremels should NEVER be used for fitting. You get what you put into the finished product.

I used a small hand file on mine when installed in my 226. I removed most of the material if I remember correctly. Nice trigger though, you will like it.

The value of a Dremel tool is that it produces results quickly and easily.
The disadvantage of a Dremel tool is that it produces results quickly and easily.

I’ve used Dremel tools for decades without destroying a single gun. In fact, I am usually perfectly satisfied with the results. I have, however, occasionally gone too far and messed up a part or four. (That’s why I always have spare parts on hand.) I don’t blame the tool, however, any more than I blame the file or other tool when I go too far or otherwise make a mistake. Using a power tool like that is riskier when there isn’t a lot of clearance between the work surface and things we don’t want to alter. I wouldn’t use a Dremel to try to modify the AC trigger pin for that reason. A needle file would be slower, but less likely to result in removing too much material from the pin or damaging the gun finish. And for that matter, I wouldn’t try to do the work with the trigger installed with any tool. Taking it out is a time-consuming nuisance, but we’re less likely to have long-term regrets when we’re finished.

This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one’s own mind without another’s guidance.”

I used a metal file and it took about an hour of test and error to get it right. I had to file off almost all of the derlin. I took it slow because you can only take off and not add on.

I will get you a picture today of my trigger and how much I had to file off to make it work.

Thank you all for your inputs.

Did you have to uninstall and install when filing down the delrin pin for the pretravel, or pretty much taped off the frame and filed it down while the trigger is installed?

I received the trigger today, which was ordered last Friday. I plan to install it once I see your picture Smile

I'm not sure if AC pre filed it but looks like there is only a thin delrin material on the trigger.
