under999KF CPO P226
My local gun shop has a kf dated p226 with all matching serial numbers. It has a gray frame. Did sig ever produce gray frame p226’s? Also what would be the going price for this gun? They have it listed for $750 which seems high.
Thinking about offering $650 but not totally sure what the gun is worth. Can y’all help a brother out?

Never heard of, or seen, a factory original "gray" frame old German P226. Now, since it's a CPO, they could have refinished the frame, whoever "they" are. I'd stay away.

PhotomanI have noticed some of the recent CPO's have what looks like a gray-ish finish on them. Regarding the price, I would say that is a bit high.

taguinOP, I'd offer them 650.00

GaryBFIMO, $650 is too high.

under999Thanks - the gun seems in really good shade and the gray doesn't look terrible, different but not terrible.
Trying to decide between it or pony up some more money for the MK25.

92fstechMost CPO 226s and 229s that I've seen around here are going for between $500-$550, and our LGSs aren't known for good pricing.

under999They don't seem to want to move the price from $750 - I guess I am going to let stay there. I think $750 is way too much.

striker1I wouldn’t touch it. You’ve no idea what’s been done to the frame prior to the refinish.
You’re better off looking for an agency turn-in.

I agree. Sig has done some questionable spray-over bake-on type finishes on the CPO's in the past and the minute they start to wear - they look like crapola.
These were black finishes a tad bit lighter than the original. Doesn't sound like the finish on the gun you are looking at though. Still very questionable.

Sounds like SIG farmed out the work to our local MAACO.

patwYou can get some really good deals by looking around the net and some auction sites. $650-750.00 is way too high for a cpo when new ones are only $800.00 or less. The MK25 is a neat gun but me personally, I wouldn't pay the premium for one. A standard 226 will be more gun than you will ever use/abuse.
