I was hoping that some of the "Sig Experts" could provide me with information regarding the (59) Kuba P210-4's referenced in Vetter's book. My uncle was recently left a small gun collection after his father-in-law passed. I believe one of the guns is an original Kuba Contract P210-4's. The serial number is 6474. It is like new in an original green Sig box. If it is an actual "Kuba", any idea what something like this would be worth? Thanks so much!

Post some pictures of the P210 and maybe you'll get a realistic estimate. Also post pictures of the box and any paperwork.

The term "Cuba pistol" comes from the Swiss collector community, which, due to contacts between SIG and the Cuban government (Batista), assumed that the serial number range 5001 - 6500 were pistols intended for the Cuban government. In fact, they were pistols that were manufactured according to the patter of the German Border police in expectation that a second delivery would be made there. However, this never took place. Most of this production batch was then renumbered and included in the last delivery to Denmark. The rest was sold on the civilian market. Your pistol belongs to the pistols that were sold on the civilian market. Special is the serial number range which is in the range for the SP47/8. However, this possible double numbering with an SP47/8 does not represent a special value. It being a commercial P210-4 is more interesting.

It would be nice though to see a picture of it with its box and papers.

We'll be happy to discuss your pistol with you, but in this forum, price checks are not allowed.

Parabellum. How can we discuss this further?

By seeing who responds to your thread.

You are welcome here but you need to understand that this forum is not intended primarily as a marketplace, and when someone registers here, we expect that they wish to join this community long term, and not to just determine pricing in advance of selling an item.

Why? Because it's been my experience over two decades that people who join for the purpose of checking prices disappear quickly after getting what they want, and I don't want this forum to be used in such a manner.

You can talk all you want about your pistol, ask all the questions you like, but I draw the line at "What's it worth?"

Ok. I did not mean to offend anyone. Just considered that this would likely be where the experts were. BTW. My uncle has no intention of selling. I was just helping him gather information about the pistol.

No one is offended, this is merely housekeeping. You are welcome to ask further questions, but when new members ask about value, it is almost always in anticipation of placing an item up for sale.

Also, I realize now that saying "We'll be happy to discuss your pistol with you" could easily be misinterpreted as an overture to discuss the matter privately. My apologies for the confusion.

BTW, OP, if you know the EF Hutton commercial from decades ago, on SIGforum, when it comes to the P210, I say, when OTD talks, people listen. Wink

Yup.

It is normal to want most of 'em.

You'll know you have a problem when you get one in every caliber...

Agreed with wanting more, for sure.

That is a great looking pistol. I always get a kick out of what people can pull out of their closets or off a storage shelf. There are so many beautiful, cool and well preserved rifles and pistols just sitting in boxes on shelves everywhere. And many other cool things that would be neat if were shared more often.

Welcome to the forum Racer. Hope you stick around.

Great advice! I have always loved Sigs, and was thrilled when my uncle showed me his -4.

Racer X cannot access member profiles and therefore cannot see member's email addresses.

OTD, would it be OK if I put him in touch with you?

I won't expect an answer until tomorrow, if at all, because it's quite late right now where OTD lives.

sure he can, but I won't answer before the end of next week.
