Picked one up from DryFly here on the forum last week. It was a NIB, SAS, DA/SA, and if it was ever fired I certainly couldn't find any evidence of it. Came with a holster and mags. I have actually been looking for a .357 barrel and mags for my P239 in .40, and i figured that would run me $400 so for a few more hundred i got the whole package including the pistol. Finally got it to the range today. I had a box of Fed Am Eagle 125 FMJ, and a box of Sig 125 gr. FMJ that i had from a couple years ago when i had a Glock 33. Ran flawlessly, and man was it accurate. I was hitting 12" steel plates at 100 yards without any problem. Put it on paper at 10 yards and it was 1 ragged hole. The thing that really stuck with me is the lack of any significant recoil. I have a P229 Elite stainless with .40 and .357 barrel, and it really did not feel any worse than shooting out of that pistol. All of my .357 shooting until i got these Sigs have been out of Glocks. Night and day difference. Snappy, but actually fun to shoot. Glocks you just feel it way more. Anyway, the P239's are great discontinued pistols that Sig should bring back.

congrats on the 239. I got mine last year and had it converted it from DAK to DA/SA. Much better and recoil is minimal. Could you look under the screw and see if there is a washer in between the grip and the grip screw? My grips keep coming loose after a little range time. Thanks. Love my Sigs but carry my Glocks

Congrastulations A P239SAS in 357SIG is a great addition to any collection. The P239 loves the 357SIG cartridge and handles it very well. I have been shooting them for about 25 years now Is your SAS a 1st generation or a 2nd? If it is a 2nd, is it a DAK or TDA action? I can not recall what year, but one of the agencies had SIG make 8 round magazines for the pistols. Additionally the magazines where phosphate coated for corrosion resistance as opposed to the standard blue finish. We got a big ole box of them in and I traded out my magazines. They were bulk packaged. I like the little extra grip surface that the 8 round magazine adds SIG made way more components than they needed and many of the dealers sold +1 kits for folks to update their magazines ------------------------------------------------------------------ NRA Benefactor . . . I've long been toying with the idea of shipping my P239 SAS, like your's on the upper-right, colt_saa, off to Bar-Sto to have a 357 Sig barrel fit to it. Congratulations on the P239, longjohn. That's some damn fine shooting, I don't care how accurate the handgun. "America is at that awkward stage. Thanks. Really nice pistols in that group pic. No washers with my grip screw. If you put a tiny bit of BLUE gun smithing loctite on the screws your problem with loose grip panels will be solved. I got a bottle from Midway, just had them add it to my last ammo order.

Good luck with it Longjohn. I hated to give it up after finding it myself recently, but I’m glad it’s gone to a good home! "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...

Congrats on joining the P239 fanatics team and diving into 357 sigs also. Both are what I've settled on after over 15 years of trial and error. Hopefully this will hold. Wiskey22: I don't believe they do have a lock washer but you could try that or some of the lighter lock tight. All of my P239s have Crimson Trace grips on them so mine could be different but no loose screws on them... now as for me.... My Native American Name: "Runs with Scissors"

That gun is one of the few true hidden secrets from those that haven't tried them. Easy to shoot with what's normally a snappy round, wicked accurate and just feels right. As you found, add a .40 barrel and you've got two guns. Add a 9mm barrel, spring and mags and you've got a third. I went with the threaded 9mm barrel for mine, coupled with the 10rd mags and it's wicked fun suppressed! Superb classic pistol. Forgot to include that I've found the Crimson Trace laser grips to be a super addition, not just because of the laser but, because the grips really do feel great in their shape and size on that particular gun. I've never really been drawn to them on any other platform but on the P239 they are superb.

The 239 in 357 remains my everyday carry pistol. I have access to most everything for carry and have yet to find better than this bad boy.

I have two P239SASs chambered in .357 SIG. Both are superb, and I can't think of a nicer EDC. Most of the more recently produced mini-guns are too difficult for me to shoot well, but the P239s feel just right and are super accurate for me. Both are equipped with CTC laser grips, both have SRTs. One has a DPM System Technologies Recoil Reduction System, an Armory Craft SIG P239 Flat Adjustable Trigger, and a SIG Sauer Handgun Mounting Kit & ROMEO1® Optic. The other has a Solid Stainless Steel Black Nitride Guide Rod. Both have a series of 8-round magazines. Congatulations to the OP for joining the P239 squad. ________________________________________________________________________________________

I'll echo your comment of moderate recoil and surprisingly good accuracy. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

I was just bragging a bit on the .357 Sig in another thread, mentioned I've had a P239 DAK in that caliber for about 10 years now. Love it. BTW, that '405' inventory on that solid black P239 second from the top is no area code, LOL! That's an internal inventory number from the large state police agency in Texas that is known to patrol the highway quite a bit. You probably knew that, but if not...well, there ya'go! LOL! ________________________________________ "Just A Wild Eyed Texan On a Manhunt For The World's Most Perfect Chili Dog...."
