I found a P2000k in .357Sig that I’m seriously considering. It currently is a V2 (LEM) gun. I tried to warm up to LEM, even the Light LEM some time ago on another HK and just could not get use to it. My question is: can the LEM action be converted to DA/SA (V3). I know the other way around is possible, but going from V2 to V3….I can’t find solid info.

Thanks guys

It is not possible to go from v2 to v3 on the p2ksk because there is no hole in the frame for the decocker.

The decocker is at the rear by the hammer on V3’s, isn’t it?

I agree, for a lot of range shooting, the LEM trigger isn’t the 1st choice for most. For any CC I think it’s just fine, safe, dirt simple deployment.

There have been some that send their gun in, if not to H&K, one of their authorized armorers. Of course, more $$ involved.

JMO, weigh the costs of the LEM HK plus conversion, see if you can find a DA/SA for the same or less $....

Zero worries about failures from the conversion or the down time with it out of your hands...

You only need the hole if you want to put a safety on it. You can convert it but finding the parts was a pain in the ass before the gun panic, I imagine it’s no easier these days not to mention the cost.

No I think you need the slot for the decocker. If you hate LEM just sell it. LEM has a pretty strong band of supporters that will pay well for one.

You can convert a da/sa p2000 to LEM but it leaves the slot. You can’t do the reverse has always been my understanding.

I’m not a LEM fan either. If I shot it mostly exclusively I think I would love it but I don’t so I don’t like it. Tried light LEM and it was way too light. Consider the Todd Green special. It ends up between the two extremes. Easily my favorite LEM. You just end up with some springs from the standard and the light. HK forum can tell you all about it. P2000 is my favorite of my HK’s, including my USP Expert.

I have a p2000sk in 357, also my favorite HK, but it needs a flat floor plate, and the Hk45 mag release.

Have to agree (after doing it) that the light lem is a little too light.

I asked HK customer support if it was possible to convert to da/sa and they said no. When I asked why ... different frame, i.e. new gun

My first HK was a P30 V3 (DA/SA) 9mm, and then I wanted a 2000SK for carry and thought I’d like LEM. Got that in .40 and bought a .357 barrel Never warmed to the LEM, so I sold it to a friend who liked it and bought a 2000SK V3 in .357 (and kept the .40 barrel when I sold the LEM model to my friend, but I never shoot .40, don’t even have a box in the safe.) Added the HK45 mag release; it’s a fine pistol now. Alas, it’s a safe queen — I carry Walther and SIG pistols, so that’s what I shoot.
