Does sig Sauer make a phosphate 226 magazine for a 9mm? Part number? I don’t like the gloss black mags at all.

That rug really tied the room together. |
FYI my former agency was issued a new batch of these P226 phosphate mags and they SUCKED. Jams and more jams on the range. They can be fixed by drowning them in oil and scrubbing the insides out with a heavy bronze brush. If you remove all the internal phosphate, they can be made to work. If you want them as a collector, cool. If they are going to be used for defensive use, get the blued or anti-friction coated mags. They are much more reliable. ______________________________________________________ Often times a very small man can cast a very large shadow

There was a time period in the mid- to late-2000s when it seemed like when you ordered P226 magazines, the phosphate version was what you got. The 9mm ones I have are Italian Mec-Gar mags. I think that was what they were producing after the 2004 ban sunset. I don’t recall having any issues with them, but I didn’t shoot them very often and certainly never stressed them out in a training class. A few years later, the P226 .40 S&W mags all seemed to be the really glossy finish that Mec-Gar was producing for a while (maybe still does - I haven’t bought any in years). ____________________________________________________ "We are being slaughtered." - Unidentified Insurgent, Operation Restoring Rights, Tall Afar, Iraq, September 2005
