I'll be interested to hear if you can feel a difference in weight between the 10 and 15 round mags. Part of the appeal of this little gun is how insanely light it is...but I can't imagine that 5 rounds of 9mm will make a noticeable weight difference.

$30 a piece? Not bad! Standard Glock mags are $20-$25 around here. And I agree about the price leveling out when the dust settles.

Yeah, toss a loaded 10 rd polymer in one hand, a 15 rd metal in the other, yeah, you feel the difference.

Toss that 15rd in a 43X, there’s going to be a difference. I don’t notice it overall, and I get 5 more rounds.

Got the 43x/48 Glock OEM 15 round magazines today. I won't have a chance to shoot with them for at least a couple days but initial impressions are as follows.

-Absolutely Glock branded MecGar magazines. I see this as a good thing. While MecGar has had a stumble or two they are few and far between.

-Mags packaged in standard Glock blister pack and cardboard.

-Finish is excellent on them. They feel great in the hand and look good.

-Spring is actually far tighter then I imagined it would be. I expected with the slightly longer body/bigger base plate that they would be easier to load. That 15th round is very stout. I imagine, like all my other mags like this, they will loosen up fairly quickly. Truth be told OG Glock 30 mags are probably still some of the hardest mags I've ever had to load out of the box and these aren't quite as bad as those.

-A full mag seats into a closed slide gun (a 48 in my example) without any problems at all.

-Beefy over travel stop. Not sure why this stood at to me but it did.

-Mags seat and hold tight in the gun. No amount of pulling or wiggling would let the notch slide over the mag catch causing the mag to drop/unseat. The little indent mag catch area seems to work very well.

-Mags drop about as free as stock Glock mags do, which is to say....meh lackluster. They do not suddenly shoot out of the gun like other makes. I also have a bit of an issue with the slim line Glocks where my grip keeps the mag button from depressing or depressing fully unless I shift my grip or finger. Point is these eject about the same as my stock polymer 10 rounders.

-Mag insertion is SMOOTH. These mags insert smoother then the Glock polymer 10 round mags and much smoother than the PSA 15 round mags. The PSA mags, while I have found them to be reliable over 250 rounds or so rounds do seem to "hang up" on a load if they have much forward cant to them. The Glock 15 rounders are totally fluid on a mag insert.

-I haven't disassembled the mags but it appears to be a standard locking pin into the baseplate affair with the locking plate underneath. SEEMS easier then stock Glock (I mean Glock poly) mags.

-I paid $30 bucks a pop for the mags. I don't find $30 objectionable for a magazine in 2026 and I believe these will actually settle more towards $25 once the rush subsides.

All in all these seem like really nice magazines and "FEEL" better then the PSA or Shield offerings. Are they better? I dunno but they feel like a really well made magazine to me.

I fired a friend's recent manufacture G19. They are sweet. No wonder everyone else is trying to build them.

I have to wait 10 business days, and I’m stuck with 10 rounders. COA was nice in the shop.

I am happy to report that I was able to get to the range with my 4 Glock 43x/48 OEM/MecGar 15 round mags and all was good to go.

I ran about 200 rounds of PMC Bronze 115 grain, Speer Gold Dot 124 grain (might have been +P forgot to look) and Federal 124 grain HST. Absolutely no problems at all.

-Gun was a Glock 48 that I have since 2024. It is an Austrian gun. Not sure any of that matters but data point and all.

-Ran the gun "plussed up" with no issues. Mags inserted just fine. Ran smooth.

-Ran the gun hot. A couple hundred rounds heated the 48 up a bit.

-Mags insert so damn smoothly. Best mag in this regard that I have ever used in a Glock.

-The gun ran super smoothly. No hints of dragging or slowing down or whatever.

-Absolutely no issues with the stock mag release or mags working loose etc.

-Shooting with the topped off magazine isn't really any different then with the 10 rounder. Is there SLIGHTLY more weight, yeah, but not noticeably so in any way. It feels just like a fully loaded PSA Dagger/Shield basically. I only point this out because it was brought up a bit above.

-As I mentioned above they drop about as free as stock Glock mags. Maybe a little smoother but do not rocket out of the gun.

-Fit and finish on the mags is really good.

-I left the mags loaded overnight. I was able to load all 15 without too much effort by hand today at the range. Still stout but loosened up enough just sitting loaded overnight that I could work that 15th round in by hand.

All in all I am SUPER HAPPY with these. I bought another on the way out of my range as they had two.

As an aside there was a guy there running the 15 round Glock .22LR mags and he reported the same as me. Perfectly reliable, he was running multiple brands of ammo and he really liked the mags.

Based on all the other reviews I have seen and my initial results I think you could probably buy these without too much worry.

I am happy to report that the G43X/48 15rd metal magazines function perfectly with the SLR Rifleworks magwell.

Uh, if you take a compact and thin pistol, then make it longer and thicker, why not just use a Glock 19?

Choices.

Some might not like the thickness of the G19.
I don't think the new mag makes it thicker. Taller yes.

Some might not like the snappiness of the 43X/48.

I don’t have a mag well on my 48. I will say that the 48 carries, at least for me, drastically nicer than a 19. Not that I have a problem carrying a 19 or 19 sized guns, I actually prefer that size in general. It’s just that the 19, specifically, is just boxy enough in the wrong spots that it doesn’t carry as well for me as some of its peers(I am splitting hairs but it’s noticeable). The 48 on the other hand is one of the most comfortable, easy to carry guns I’ve ever carried.

Would I suggest to somebody who has a Glock 19 they are happy with to run out and replace it? HELLL NO!!!! I’m just saying that small size differences can make noticeable impacts depending on the person. Conversely the G19 is easier to shoot for me, and I suspect most normal folks.

You're right, the 15-round mag and the grip sleeve make the same size as a G19..

Even with something making the grip wider the slide is absolutely more comfortable IWB.
